  • Carpeted Wall Bathroom?, In my fixer, one of the 4 bathrooms had paneling on the top half of the wall and carpeting on the bottom half. The toilet had wood left there from a previous floor, and the sink was an old cast iron school lavatory sinks that hangs on the wall. Everything had to be replaced, including the sub floor. I learned how to do a bathroom in 2 days with this project. , Bathrooms Design

  • Small Avocado Green Bathroom Out... Subway Tile and Chrome In, A small single sink, avocado green tiled bathroom was transformed into a more contemporary functional space. The existing cast iron tub was the only item spared. The tub only functioned as a tub, so we plumbed a shower for the tub. Also, we added an additional sink. Adding a pocket door gave us the ability to add a small storage closet behind the shower. A new cabinet was placed over the toilet along with recessed medicine cabinets for additional storage space. We vented the bath and since there is no window in the bathroom, we added recessed lighting and wall sconces. , Bathrooms Design

  • From 1959 to 2008, Parts of this bathroom were original to the home (1959), including the green cast iron bathtub that was painted white. There was also an abundance of mold growing behind the shower walls. We gutted this room and started over! , Bathrooms Design

  • First apartment dining room, This is my first apartment dining space. The main elements are the exquisite cast iron wine rack (bought from craigslist, $20), which I love, the wood and black dining table (bought from craigslist, $80), and the wooden China hutch (hand-me-down from my parents), which I have been trying to sell and get rid of ever since I moved in. I feel like it is an eye-sore, and I just don't know what to do with it...or what to put in it...

The centerpiece on the table is a hand-made quilt table-runner, a candle, and two crystal candle holders., Dining Rooms Design

  • Agriculture Inspired Golden Kitchen, I used seed packets and fruit crate panels to inspire the colors of this kitchen redo- the colors are bold in the kitchen and breakfast nook, but I think the orange came out more in the photo than in real life. The cabinets are stock oak ones that the previous homeowners put in that I refinished with ivory milk paint and my husband polyurethaned. The counters were changed from laminate to granite tile with brushed nickle trim, the backsplash was finished with subway tile, and the floor was redone with a custom design all courtesy of my super-talented husband.
There is an attached breakfast nook that I have under another listing. Check it out! The total cost of re-doing both kitchen and breakfast nook including the new appliances was around $3000., Kitchens Design

  • Chinoiserie Powder Room, This is our 2nd Bath though we use it as our powder room. We've never used the shower which is why we have a silk shower curtain and it does a pretty good job of hiding the shower. We changed out the floor, vanity top and window and just tried to give it a lot of drama with the murals. I chose the vanity tile to complement the color of the bamboo on our Living Room Fireplace . Please let me know if you think the coral drum shade I'm considering hanging is going too far. Thanks!!!, Bathrooms Design

  • Get Me Outta Formica World!, A small and tight kitchen. Not very user friendly. May have worked at one time as an Easy Bake kitchen, For those who like to microwave or cook frozen prepared meals from the local grocery. Cabinets space is limited. Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are made of formica covered particle board. The formica counter is a dingy color and (like myself) coming unglued. , Kitchens Design

  • Baltimore Bathroom, We had an old bathroom, circa1926. We removed a linen closet to create a walk in shower. We saved money on the tub, spent money on a quality bathroom door. We could not afford to change toilet placement or cretae a sepaarte water closet. Overall, I am thrilled with my new bathroom!, Bathrooms Design
