  • Preston's Vintage Sock Monkey Room, The walls are a dark chocolate brown with a 12" red boarder painted at the top. The trim and doors are an antique white. The curtains, crib skirt, and personalized children's chair are red/white gingham. The crib sheet, comforter, changing pad cover, light switch plate, lamp shade, and night light are an ivory fabric with brown vintage sock monkeys! The mobile above the crib was made by me. My father made the red shelf, and a friend made the personalized blocks. I made the "No Monsters Allowed" sign above the closet. The room isn't overwhelming with Sock Monkeys. The theme is understated, and we love that it can be easily transformed, as Preston grows. All we'll have to do is change the bedding, curtains and wall art!, Nurseries Design

  • Small and Cozy Dining Room with Green Room, French doors from our main entrance living room lead into the small dining room of our 1920's brick bungalow. The dining room has a built in cabinet and an old entrance was turned into an enclosed green room in the 50's. We refinished the original hardwoods in the dining room to add warmth and had new clean ceilings put up to cover the old popcorn. The wall art work was made by me and my husband. , Dining Rooms Design

  • Kids playroom in attic, My kids always had friends over so I made the attic into a kids hangout! The kids love to see me paint and draw, so what cheaper then a little paint and elbow grease. I spent $17 dollars, added things we had around the house., Other Spaces Design

  • 1920's Bungalow Bathroom, This is the bathroom in our 1920's Craftsman Style Bungalow. The ceilings are tall 9ft but the bathroom is long and narrow. No storage spaces. I don't want to be forced to trash the clawfoot tub. I love it but we need a shower and more walking room. We don't know what to do and don't have money for a complete remodel. The window just goes to an unused enclosed porch. We Thought about expanding it that way but that's a big job for the two of us., Bathrooms Design

  • Bungalow Living Room SUGGESTIONS PLEASE, Please give your suggestions on reviving this fireplace to make it a beautiful focal point. It is a working fireplace. We are definitely replacing the fireplace screen. But, not sure what to do with the fireplace color, style, etc.The only place we could put the TV was over the mantle because of the way the living room was made and the bookshelf holds the receivers. So that's the only thing we cannot change for now. , Living Rooms Design

  • Parallelogram Property, I live on a lot that is literally a parallelogram. My shed is behind my neighbor's house, and my other neighbor's fence is behind my house. I have space for a garage, but I don't want it to cut too much into my funky shape of a yard. I would love to have a fence, garden, landscaping, and something on my patio, but my backyard faces West so it gets all of the sun in the afternoon. Any ideas to help make this space an awesome outdoor living and entertaining area to add to my 980 square foot bungalow would be fabulous!, Yards Design

  • Attic bed room, This was a raw space before renovation. After renovation this attic space became a " Bunk Room" where friends and family stay in our Country house. With 3 full size, log style beds, built in shelves for books and a table and chairs overlooking the lake. This is the favorite room for many of our guests., Bedrooms Design

  • EMBARRASSING Attic Master Suite!, This is the attic of my house, it runs the whole length of the house, with the stairs arriving at the back end of the room overlooking the backyard. The daybed is at the landing. Then you turn and see the whole length of the room to a door. That door opens to our bedroom area. There are three closets -- one out in the open, one in the master with a door and one opposite the bathroom with a door. The wallboards are terrible, the color is terrible. We have goog pieces of furniture, I think, but I cannot figure out how to make it more user friendly. It is a bungalow and that is my style - kind of traditional bungalow with a few modern twists for fun., Bedrooms Design
