  • Built- Ins on a Budget, My husband made these for me - probably got tired of my whining- for next to nothing. They are made of plywood, and when we took our measurements to Home Depot they cut it for us!! We used beadboard for the back, and topped with some small crown moulding. Before it was just an empty space, so I couldnt be happier! We later added the feet to the bottom to make them look like furniture. The total cost was around 100 bucks., Living Rooms Design

  • Master Bedroom Closet/Dressing Room, This is the master bedroom closet in my condo in Morgan Hill. Closet dimensions are 6'x12' with 8' ceilings. Cabinetry was handmade by my hubby and goes from floor to ceiling. Since the closet entrance is immediately off the master bathroom, we treat it as a dressing room with a bench for drying off, towel hooks, and cupboards for perfumes, jewelry, lotion, etc., Closets Design

  • Stuck on Yellow..., I have a really large living room that opens up to my "foyer". It has huge vaulted ceilings and lots of built ins around the not so fabulous fireplace. The floors are beautiful and I love all the french doors that open onto the back patio, however that's where the love stops. My husband and I recently bought the rug and the coffee table (which is an antique door)- I love those two things!! The two wingback chairs are hand me downs from my grandmother. They're in really good shape, and as you can see I recovered one- before I got married and moved into this house. Now I'm not so sure the pattern goes with the house? I know my living room could be absolutely gorgeous, but I don't know how to get there... Any suggestions?, Living Rooms Design

  • Beautiful Built-Ins, When my husband Conan and I bought our first house, a 1917 Victorian, we loved the big windows and beautiful details but we didn't love the lack of storage. These built-in shelves were our answer to that problem. We tore out a radiator, removed an old window unit, replaced it with the original window, built the shelves and added a few coats of paint. What we have today is an inviting space that is functional while still respectful of the house's original design. , Living Rooms Design

  • Basement, This is our recently finished basement digs. We were intent on keeping it from going too dark, so we chose white woodwork & trim with brick accents. Because we have humidity problems and our copper pipes tend to drip condensation, we went with a sprayed ceiling to compliment the brickwork and keep a dehumidifier going 24/7. I was kind of going for a "loft" feel, albeit in the basement. It is a fairly small 1/2 basement with a crawl space, but we were able to include an exercise area, a small half bath and a play room with glass paned doors off of the TV area., Basements Design

  • Cottage Beach House, We just built our dream beach house in Port Aransas, Texas. My husband and I designed the layout while I had a blast designing the interiors with the help of my daughter. We will eventually rent the house to vacationers and Texas snowbirds, while spending our own special moments here with our family and friends., Other Spaces Design

  • Cozy Home Office / Library, I designed this small office to maximize storage and comfort. The built-in bookcases are joined with upper kitchen cabinets that are footed and strong enough to be used as a window seat. The palladian window shutters are wainscotted and insulated. The (3) closet doors (also wainscotted) hide shelves, (3) file cabinets, and a TV. White wainscoting ties the entire room together. The sofa is apartment-size. The dusty rose desk chair is a recliner that I put up on ball casters. This was a fun, low-budget room makeover., Home Offices Design
