  • Fabulous Relaxing Brown & Blue Office, This room was blue when I moved in. I painted it hot pink!! The pink was different but it hurt my head after a while. SO back to blue, but a better blue. I painted the ceiling dark brown partly as an experiment to see if I would like it, and partly to hide the imperfections, cracks, bumps, and glued on stars!!! Turns out, I do love a brown ceiling and have since painted the bedroom ceiling and will soon paint the bathroom. Anyone thinking about painting a ceiling dark brown....don't be afraid!! Although I must say, I think white crown molding is a must in such an endeavor.
So anyway, this is my favorite room so far but I am open to any suggestions you may have. Several minds are better than one., Home Offices Design

  • Christmas Time and LOTS OF FAUX SNOW!!!, I decorate every room in our home for Christmas. I keep out my star fish all year long. Ever since our trip to Hawaii years ago I have a thing for them.....sorry if some people don't care for them, I just smile every time I see one! We have a tree in every room including the 4 bathrooms. The kitchen tree is decorated with tea bags and spoons and the bathroom trees have tooth brushes, floss, tooth paste and picks. Each tree is unique in it's own way. Sorry about the poor picture quality... , Holidays Design

  • Jude's Vintage Nursery, An economical ($1000!) nursery for our new baby Jude! Inspired by vintage, antique pieces that were spruced up, bold textures/patterns, and a taste of a winter woodland theme, this nursery was done on a budget and many of the projects were created by us. • Mantle Decor for my sister in law, I wanted to make something simple for my sister in law's rather old fashioned gray stone fireplace. She was happy with the design I made for her. I think the simplicity and uncluttered look worked best for the space. The stones were from Pier One as were the dark greens the rim of green in the vase is called reindeer moss which added a little more softness. , Living Rooms Design

  • Family Room Updated, Been working on this room over the past year, trying not to go broke. How am I doing? The family room. Ever changing, ever messy, ever busy. Well, they don’t call it family room for nothing! Normally it is a mess. But when the kids go to bed and the husband is in the shower, I can take pictures of it clean! This is not a room of “Ooh, ahh, Fancy!” It is place for people. 99.9% of the time there are toys all over, blankets wadded up or thrown on cold kids, pillows everywhere and the dogs sleeping on the floor. This is also the room in the center of the house. No windows, no natural light. When we moved in it was so dark. Dark wood paneling, dark faux wood beams. Dark fireplace, with a way to small mantel, way to large and high mirror. Dark brass ceiling fan with no light, hanging from a hook! HA! But with some cleaning and paint, and ripping up the old carpet, it was a diamond in the rough. Lots of space, french doors, brick fireplace that speaks to the outside of the house. Yes, even the fake beams could be a total gem with a little work.
