  • A Transportation Inspired Toddler's Room, It was a definite challenge for us to design this odd-shaped space for our four year old boy who loves all things that beep, vroom and choo choo! A trundle bed hides in a private little nook complete with fisherman inspired lighting and madras plaid curtains hung w/ nautical rope and galvanized pipe. Nautical flags painted on wood hang behind the daybed. The room is painted with a faux linen technique mimicking the look of a more expensive grasscloth. Train wall shelves, and cubbys with primary colored baskets help conceal clutter and lots of battery operated cars, trucks and trains! A bright patterned rug was used to try and warm up the space. The floor is a dark tobacco colored hand scraped hardwood. We have a pair of vintage looking airplanes hung from his ceiling, and a couple of comfy chairs that are just the right size for the four and under crowd. We hope that our son will love this space for many years to come! Hope you like what we did and If you have any feedback, we'd love to hear it :), Boys' Rooms Design

  • Bold and bright, The choice of vibrant colors for the master bedroom was dictated by the room's northern exposure to make those rainy Pacific Northwest winter mornings cheerful despite all odds. The walls' salmon red color is complemented with muted mustard yellow for the woodwork. , Bedrooms Design

  • Mid-Century Yellow and Gray Bathroom, The house was built in 1956 and we moved in just under a year ago. This full bathroom is on the main living floor; there is a full master bath downstairs. All tile and fixtures are original; all we changed was the wall color and added the accessories. Before the yellow the room felt cold and cavernous. Not any more!, Bathrooms Design

  • Bold and Bright, Continuing on the bold and bright trend (at least as it pertains to my house -which incidentally is for sale-) here are some photos of the living room. This room sets the trend for the entire house: not a stuffy formal room but a canvas where I expressed my love for warm colors., Living Rooms Design

  • Vibrant Living Room Remodel!, Color translates so easily — it's both modern and in this case, also ethnic. When looking for a San Francisco Interior Designer, our client asked for three specific things: surprise, to stay on budget, and to be daring. The Gabriel Scott chandelier is a showstopper! We collaborated with amazing local San Francisco artists to really complete the space. The geometric patterning is a predominant theme echoed throughout. The Tina Sedonne's sculpture highlights strength and fluidity. Tahiti Pehrson's 4' x10' cut paper signifies interconnectedness, and also echoes the negative space created by both the coffee table and the steel chandelier., Living Rooms Design

  • Traditional Meets Transitional, Thank God for Insurance...the day before thanksgiving, my husband and I came home to a busted water heater in our attic that flooded the entire living room. My first reaction was to totally freak out. My second reaction, however, was pure excitement when I realized this meant a brand new living room. So, this is the finished product after new hardwood floors, new furniture, and some new accents. I wanted an up-to-date look with a touch of traditional flare. I love the high back couch and chair with the bright, fun pillows. The rug was a steal from overtock.com, and many of the accents I painted cream to pull everything together...All for our $1000 deductible:), Living Rooms Design

This very dated space was in dire need of vast attention. It did not do the spectacular view outside justice. But, it was a perfect candidate for a makeover. I hope you enjoy checking out the pictures of the transformation. Thanks for your time and interest.

  • Chinoiserie Living Room, This room has evolved over many years.
It originally had a shed style roof. We centered it adding beams and recessed lights. We replaced the windows with french door s and skim coated the walls for a smooth finish. We painted them gray with a slightly darker version on the ceiling. We stained the beams a greenish brown. On a trip to Paris in 1999 we came across our unique & amazing fireplace mantle, overmantle and matching screen and had it shipped back. A dear friend gave us the beautiful painting. We couldn't believe it when it fit the opening perfectly! We call her the lady of the house. Over the years we've found many treasures that have found their way into our Living Room like the extremely unusual brass rolling ball clock I found just this week at TJ Maxx!
As I write this, I'm so sad because as I was trying to add more photos I accidently deleted the room and all the wonderful comments, views and ratings I had received over the past few weeks.
So here is the new and hopefully improved Chinoiserie or Asian Inspired Living Room, hope you like it!, Living Rooms Design
