My kitchen was dark due to a patio roof outside and I wanted to brighten it up and add a little pizzaz with black and white decor. How to do both? I painted the upper cabinets white the lower ones black and had a sun tunnel installed in the dark corner. What a difference it made!

I wanted an office that was functional for computer crafts and guest bedroom. My style is feminine a mix of traditional shabby chic with a touch of modern and whimsy.

This was the formal living room that I created into a Parlor for our bar instead of a room we'd never use. I painted the walls all black with white tile and black grout.

Part of my condo renovation still in progress, this dark and dingy bathroom went from two small functional but boring compartments to a striking contemporary space. See my other RMSpaces for rooms I have updated so far.

Our bed room is a place to rest an rejuvenate at least until the kids jump in the bed anyway! This room is light blue with touches of black / white Toile. The bed has an antique black finish and is distressed to look aged. Silver accents highlight our room and a few crystals add that touch of sparkle.

My first completed project. I decided to scale down the office furniture and make the space comfortable as a guest bedroom and office. Although the wall color is bold I find it to be soothing, very relaxing and inspiring.

I wanted a different, fun and elegant looking dining room. I knew I wanted to do it black and white. It is a very open room that gets a lot of light. I painted 3 of the walls black. I found black 13" circles at Lowe's and decided to cover the remaining white wall with the circles. I covered white lamp shades with different black and white fabric for the buffet and added beads and plume to the black chandelier shades. This was an old antique table and china cabinet that I painted. I replaced the chairs with white leather parson chairs.

This is my daughter's room. She had the "Princess" room for 5 years, and it was time for a change. I wanted something that did not have a "theme" so that it could grow more with her. I could not find a black and white room I liked, so I went on the hunt for ideas. Hope you like it as much as we do. =0

This is my newly redecorated home office and craft space. Black and white is one of my favorite color combinations so that I can change out accent color fairly frequently. Any feedback you give is appreciated!

This is a small kitchen that has black cabinents and a white counter top. It also has mixed match black and white appliances. Not very functional or entertaining with a family of 6. Tried to put handles on the cabinents to make it alittle more appealing, however, it was a issue by the kitchen sink where the dishwasher opens.

Tessa Jean's room is a collection of vintage treasures picked up in thrift stores, beloved items from my own childhood, generous hand-me-downs, and even a couple of new things.
Tessa Jean is 10 months old now, but a year ago we had so much fun turning this tiny, oddly shaped room from our office into her nursery.
The iron bed in her room was mine when I was child and it was intended to be a place where I would nap while she naps. I don't think that's happened once. Instead, it's the place where we read bedtime stories and fold laundry.
On her chandelier, I've strung up more than a dozen of her rejected pacifiers. She was very particular about the ones she'd accept but the candy-colored binkies were too cute to toss out.
The swivel chair next to her crib is a thrift store find and the felt map of the United States was picked up at a yard sale before I was even pregnant. It's my favorite thing in her room.
Almost all of the books on her shelves were mine as a child.
The changing table was on sale at Pottery Barn Kids as a floor model. Score!
Her crib bedding, from DwellStudio, was probably my biggest splurge. I am obsessed with it.
Hope you guys enjoy the nursery!
