  • Ayana's Sweet and Modern Nursery, I am a lover of contemporary living. Ever since I thought of making our daughter's nursery I was looking for something that looks modern and contemporary. After my rigorous research I finally settled down to "Gray and Yellow" theme, Gray was to give the room that elegance and Yellow was to diffuse that freshness and incandescence for a girl's room. I loved how the combination was vivid as well as graceful.

However, I wanted to keep a balance between splurging for the nursery and 'thinking too much'. I think I was able to get to it finally!

I got my inspiration from all the beautiful projects that have been submitted already. I had previously done my son's room, and I also wanted Ayana's room to be as pretty as she herself is.

  • Sweet, Serene Yellow Nursery for a Baby Boy, This mom wanted a sweet and serene gender neutral nursery for her first born. So, she painted the baby's room yellow - Behr Ultra in Moon Dance. The pine furniture was from Westwood Design, Cypress Point line in Honey Pine. The wall decals, from weeDECOR, are the whimsical tree with birds which were placed next to the crib and owls on a branch which sit over the changing table. She tells us her son loves looking at the decals when they are changing him and they love that the wall decals are made of eco-friendly fabric! The rug is the double border rectangular rug in Antique Linen from JC Penney's. The frog wall art and owl statue are from 2 separate art galleries in Santa Fe, NM where mom and dad vacationed before the little one was born., Nurseries Design

  • Green Spree Kitchen Makeover, I live in my parents basement apartment and have for over 5 years. The walls in every room were painted that harsh white and the fluorescent lights in the ceiling didn't help at all. I took it upon my self (and drug my boyfriend along the way) to spruce it up with some color! , Kitchens Design

  • The Birdhouse, I had so much fun decorating the nursery for my daughter. I used the corner tree with birds as the focal point of the room and tried to incorporate birdies throughout. I glued a birdhouse to the top of a coatrack so she can someday hang purses, scarfs, bookbags and hairbows from here. The "dream" decal above her crib also has a bird on it. And the bedding is just all around girly and completes the look I was going for., Nurseries Design

  • Lily's Gray & Pink Nursery, With the help of my interior designer friend we used a gray and pink palate for Lily's nursery with pops of green. My husband installed wainscoting to accent the darker gray walls. The bedding was handmade as well as the curtains with matching fabric from etsy. The dresser was a hand-me-down in good condition so we decided to go with the lighter color wood for the rocking chair and crib. We wanted the room to be able to grow with Lily and be appropriate for her as a baby too. , Nurseries Design

  • Got Huge Empty Walls? Large Bird Wall Art Murals can fill your space, My living room walls are huge with high ceilings. Even my large paintings looked dwarfed by the wall. So I painted a large wall art graphic of seabirds that compliments the imagery in the my original Metaphor paintings. Adding tall glass decorative accent pieces gives height to the table and pulls the whole wall space together with a contemporary look. It now has the WOW factor., Living Rooms Design

  • It's a Boy! An Owl Nursery for Landon, This nursery was the first room I really designed and was truly a labor of love! My mom and I created almost everything ourselves...the rest of the items were ordered on Etsy. I really like unique items and tried to stear clear of mass produced nursery bedding and decor. I originally chose the owl theme thinking how unique it was, but quickly found out how popular owl decor is now!
I originally wanted to paint the room a bright aqua color, but then I found a wall decal that I loved and wanted to showcase that. Not sure if you can tell from the pictures but I had the ceiling painted a pale blue color instead. I am open to any suggestions and/or questions! Thanks for looking at my space! :), Nurseries Design
