Posted before took suggestions and have made some changes. Carpet and walls are gray. Carpet will have to stay as is. Still a work in progress. Have ordered new drapes and bedspread etc. - teal and chocolate color scheme. Will do accent wall of chocolate in the office area that will become a sitting area and the office will go inside a computer armoire to hide the mess.

We totally gutted our previous master bath and wanted the bathroom to take on a Tuscan feel like the rest of our home. Only thing that stayed was tub and toilet.

I found the house online in Nov 07. We lived and worked in Japan at the time. I flew out to see the home for the first time in January closed on it in March and began to remodel. I did all my own shopping and decorating. Three months later - 90% complete!I started with re-painting the entire home adding more built-in cabinets custom blind installations then custom lighting. Look through these photo's first then see the transformations!

I really hated my old cabinets but just couldn't afford to purchase new ones right now so I painted them black after seeing some others on this site.
The cabinet faces and doors were sanded, primed and painted with 2 coats of oil based paint from Sherwin Williams.
We changed the hinges to black ones, added brushed nickel knobs and pulls as well as adding beadboard to the backside of the cabinets where the sink is. (It's kind of like an island and also added posts to the ends of the cabinets.
The next 'phase' of the project will be to change out the counters and backsplash - I'm thinking a granite tile for the counters....

We did a complete home makeover on our house in Merced, CA. This is the master bath we created when we closed in the front bedroom "Jack & Jill" door leading into the shared bathroom. This created a Master Bedroom with private bath in our 1300 square foot home built in 1920.

We recently updated our 80's era bathroom. Gone were the carpeted floor, mica cabinets and dated fixtures. We now have a beautiful space that was worth the wait.

This space went from drab to glam with many updates throughout. It got a couple coats of paint(Proper Gray by Sherwin Williams. I made my own custom headboard, attempted the art of re-upholstery, created artwork above the bed out of leftover fabrics and lengthened some standard curtains to create drama in the room.....

No granite counter tops. No big screen TV's. No pool tables. Not in the budget this year. But PAINT was in the budget. See the difference a few gallons of paint can make!

We bought a berm house that faces south in 2001 mainly for the view it gave us without realizing the many problems that we would encounter. We are known as the underground house by the pizza delivery guys to UPS drivers. From a new roof flooded rooms to a hole in the middle covered with a blue tarp my husband has not stoppped trying to do the remodel himself. His vision is a home with cedar siding like what he placed on the new construction that he designed and built.

I'm notorious for just switching up accessories to recreate a space. Well, a little more magic was need to transform our 2002 "builder white" kitchen. Not wanting to overdo expenses for our Florida market and wanting to try to stay green, we opted for a NO DEMO RENO. This space was transformed within 12 hours of one day: Graphite granite counter w/recycled glass dust, black granite bar-top with recycled glass flakes, a recycled glass mini-subway style tile full-height back splash, a 60/40 artisan sink, replaced drawer knobs for cup pulls, and added the splurge: the Kohler Simplice faucet. If Carter can do it - So can you. Our kitchen was transformed by using Granite Transformations and reusing our existing counters by covering with a new (no waste in a landfill. Surprisingly to us, our laundry room is the room everyone sees when they first enter our home. For whatever reason, no one ever comes through the front door except formal guests - i.e., cable workers, alarm system installers, etc.! Because the laundry room is - unfortunately - the first room everyone sees when entering our home, I wanted to make it warm and inviting...and very creative! Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoy the room!

This home needed to get on the market asap, but oh my gosh, did it ever need help. I had to use almost all of the homeowner's furniture, except for the living room. So, they had to tons of decluttering to do, and then I had to figure out a way "to make it work" with the majority of their things. A tough assignment, but some rearranging and decorating, gave this home new life. This was a fun one to see their reaction, and it fortunately has changed they way lived. Sometimes people just can't see past their own stuff to see what a nice home they actually have. I would have loved to change so much more, but needed to honor the wishes of the homeowners and try work around a 2 yr. old!

UPDATE: Well, we finally finished our bathroom and are now moving on... This past weekend we installed a new sliding glass door removing a large old pane window. We also installed our back screen door off of our bathroom. We have now decided to build a "summer porch" onto the back of our home - there is a deck we already built and we are making it into the "summer porch" which will be partially screened in so we can sleep out there on cool nights. So this is our new project and we hope to have it finished by winter, which is just around the corner ! ! We'll see..... we also would like to add onto the deck where we just installed our new sliding glass door, but I doubt that all of this will get competed. Another "work in progress" - will post pics.
