Calming, modern bedroom. The headboard is an inspiration from angelo. I had my husband build the bed, headboard and nightstands. I drew up all of the plans and did all of the finishing work. We love it.

No longer able to stand my husband's uber ugly, stuck in the '70, duck wallpaper, carpeted, dark and narrow bathroom we finally began tearing the walls down. The shower was located in the center of the room on one wall. It was one of the cheap plastic shell varieties. We cut it into pieces with a reciprocating saw. Because the shower butted up to the studs, we were left with a large opening floor to ceiling where the shower once stood. We then removed the the two remaining shower walls that extended to the ceiling. That then left huge holes in the ceiling. Because we were installing a new fan and pot lights we decided to remove and replace the entire ceiling rather than try to patch it. We replaced the ceiling and wall drywall, (not fun and built two pony walls to define the shower area. We installed backer-board in the shower, on the pony walls and the floor. Then we layered all the water proofing and built the sloped floor for the shower pan. I painted the vanity rather than replacing it. Next came the granite counter top and then the tile. I laid lots and lots and lots of tile! We installed a new window with a horizontal look to visually widen the narrow room. Our biggest expense was the installation of the glass shower enclosure. Since it was the main area of the room we went with the experts and we were never sorry about that decision. Last if not least was the texture, paintable wallpaper. It gives the bathroom a wonderful expensive look. In the end we did the carpentry, wallpaper, tile electrical and plumbing. We came in under $5800 for the total redo. We are older than dirt and if we can DIY anyone can!

This room reflects me and my personality. It is our guest bedroom, but I use it as my dressing room. We do not have any kids yet, but my nieces love it. They play in my scarves, highheels and with my purses. I hope you enjoy it also.

My husband and I put off this badly needed renovation for many years because we dreaded moving the huge cast iron bath tub. Once we overcame our fears and the help of some young men to move the tub we finally tackled the remodel. We did all the work ourselves except for the granite counter tops. I did the all the tile and my husband did the woodwork. We came in under a total of $3500 for the complete project.
I don't know if this will post or not. I have recieved a lot of e-mail comments but none have come up under comments on hgtv. If it doesn't post I'll edit my discription.
The granite is "new ventian gold". The paint is Glidden "Tawny Birch".

We recently repainted our master bedroom. I like the wall color but now I am stuck on what kind of bedding and decorations to use. We have two little girls who dominate the rest of the house and would really love to make this one space our own. Please help me put the finishing touches on this room.

This is my contemporary girl bedroom. It has a blue, brown, and green theme. I actually just changed that orange desk chair to something more modern. And yes, my 3 cats are sleeping on my bed. If there is anything you can find in my room that could be changed or if my room could be better in any way, tell me. You can also use my design ideas from my room, to inspire you for your room!

This home is for sale and the house is full of antiques and 70's furniture that I couldn't remove. My challenge was to work with what was in the house and stage these 2 different bedrooms to relate to more buyers... includes Pictures of Bedroom 1 "after" (pic 1 and "before" (pic 2 and Bedroom #2 "after" (pic 3 and "before" (pic 4
