  • Narrow Entryway, This is our front hallway/entryway that is incredibly narrow. Since it's the first thing you see when you walk in, we wanted to make it pretty and obviously, functional. We really started working on it during Apartment Therapy's January Cure, adding hooks, baskets, and decorating the cabinet. It works really well for us and it's nice walking in and seeing something pretty! You can see more details on my blog http://shoes-off-please.com, Other Spaces Design

  • Foreclosure Redone, I purchased my home last year and have been continuosly updating each bedroom. My masterbedroom originally had old dirty carpet and a weird paint scheme. I had the bedroom repainted and added an accent color on one wall for a sitting area. I had the carpet replaced with laminate flooring., Bedrooms Design

  • Grey & White Kitchen Remodel, Welcome to my kitchen! My kitchen used to be red with light oak cabinets. I was ready for a new look, so I painted the top cabinets white, the bottom cabinets Cathedral Stone Grey, added a shelf over the sink and used an adhesive stainless steel backsplash to complete the look. I still have a couple touch ups to make, but I hope you like the transformation! Thanks for checking out my new kitchen! :), Kitchens Design

  • Master Bath Mini-Renovation, Since our home was built in 2007, we did not need to renovate the entire room. We felt we could achieve the look we wanted by simply renovating the shower & making minor cosmetic changes. We did it all ourselves & on a budget!

You can check out our blog: duoventures.blogspot.com to see more details on the renovation!

Here's a quick rundown of what we did:
-we removed existing shower stall & expanded about 10 inches
-removed part of the dividing wall between the shower & tub
-tiled the entire shower with travertine subway tiles
-had a frame-less glass door & panel installed
-changed out light fixtures & faucets
-framed existing mirror above the vanity
-painted & added some DIY art, Bathrooms Design

  • Easter baskets, A tiskit ~ a tasket ~ I made Easter baskets! Well, Easter basket CUPCAKES, that is! I had fun making these :) I've made these in the past and used string licorice (twisted) for the handles, but found that once the licorice became soft the 'handles' lost their shape. This year I decided to use pastel pipe-cleaners instead. The 'grass' is coconut I tinted with food coloring and the 'eggs' are speckled jelly beans. Hope you all have a blessed Easter :) Enjoy! , Holidays Design

  • Style Meets Technology, This space is my fave! Dorm rooms can be so cluttered or so dull. • Baby's Nursery ' Star Serenity', Pastel colorblocked wall (subtle stimulation) 3 contrasting walls done in the same green (but half-cut) resulting in a softer shade in the same hue. Colors were matched to fabric. (A waffle weave textured polyester cotton. ) All painting and sewn accessories were done by myself. It is a tiny room and very serene. Floating shevles and a small accent carpet has since been added. (March 25th/08 -I have left this room up for reference of a 'color-blocked wall'. ), Nurseries Design

  • The Cat's Office - a.k.a. Collector's Laundry Room, I am a collector with a 16-year-old cat that thinks my laundry room is his office. His very private "restroom area" is hidden behind this 6-ft.-long dresser base that I painted burgandy. The top has a faux marble finish. Since this room is rather large I decorated it with some extra collectibles including a few framed antique calendars from my collection. Note the cat's dining area in the back corner. , Bathrooms Design

  • Makeover on a budget, This bathroom was a blah standard room with odd separations. It had a garden tub that took up most of the space and a 29" square shower--utterly useless. Now it is open, modern with an air of Victorian antiquity using an antique dry sink and a glass vessel and open storage. All this for $6,500 which included $2,500 for a contractor to do plumbing and demo. Everything else was done by me, from floor tile to reconfiguring the dry sink, building the open storage, wallpapering, painting, and tiling the shower. , Bathrooms Design
