  • Barn of my dreams , Our new barn is 36' x 48' and home to our Arabian horses. We designed and built this ourselves with some help from our wonderful neighbors. Took us a year from start to finish with working on weekends on this project. It has 4 stalls, a horse wash area, an office/tack room and lots of storage with a hay loft for overhead feeding (less mess and waste of the hay). We added sky lights over the stalls to save on energy costs and insulated all the walls so that it was warmer in the winter for us and the horses. We did all the work ourselves with the exception of the electrical. We have lots of electical outlets on the interior which is convenient and exterior outlets on all four sides outside that have already been handy. Each stall has an automatic waterer so the horses always have lots of fresh water. The local building inspector was amazed how well built this is considering we have never built an entire building before. We designed this to compliment our home and yet be very functional. We had a great time with this truly DIY project! , Other Spaces Design

  • Help how to paint these two places/roundtable or not! , I need ideas I am stuck on these 2 areas. I have a 12"5 x11"5 diningroom with 2 windows and 9 or 10 foot ceilings! I am not sure what color to paint it. I was thinking red on top and put up some chair railing and brown or chocolate on the bottom. I am also considering a new table round maybe! I like the rustic country look with little clutter and clean lines. My problem is the living room is the next room over and is painted Maple Glaze behr paint then there is a entry front door, closet and the stairs. So if I paint the entry way one color and the diningroom another will it look like too many colors or should I paint the entry way same as the dinningroom?, Dining Rooms Design
