  • Emmy's Parisian Chic Nursery, When my husband and I found out we were having a little girl, my wheels immediately started spinning and construction began! I have always loved wainscot, so that was the first DIY project my husband tackled. I maximized space by setting the armoire caddy-corner with a changing station to the left and the crib directly on the opposing wall. The glider and ottoman is also caddy corner next to the changing station. I found an antique mahogany two-tier table with scallop edging from Craigslist -$50- and refinished it in a black pearl stain with gold etching and tulip flowers with the letter M for Baby Morgan. The picture-in-picture was a design inspiration that my mom found in an interior decor magazine. We replicated the idea, wallpapering each of the inside panels bordered with molding, and placed vintage pictures that have been with my family for several years. On the 'changing station' wall, the other two picture-in-pictures have wired vintage figures of a manikin silhouette and Eiffel tower for that Parisian flare. My mother-in-law made all the bedding, drapery, and diaper hanging sack from fabric we picked out a local fabric warehouse in Buena Park, CA. The crib cornice and curtain tie backs were a great find at the Princess Canopy Shop on Etsy. They are stained in black pearl with brass/gold etching. My husband designed the M monogram and had it carved for under $40. I bought the hanging chandelier on closeout with black shades and matching pink bows were tied using the leftover pink satin bedding fabric. The furniture was purchased locally and the lamp was purchased on clearance at Tuesday Morning -$50-. I shopped around for the rug after finding that on an interior design website, I bought it for 50% less than retail from BoldRugs.com after they price matched another competitors price. The crib mobile was purchased on target.com., Nurseries Design

  • The Babe Cave! A Craft Room and beyond!, If a Dude gets a "Man Cave", what does a woman get? Welcome to my Babe Cave! My room is just what every gal needs--a place to craft, a place to chat, a place to watch a movie, a place to gossip...a place that celebrates HER and not the rest of the family! Welcome to The Ladies' Lounge! 18ft of counter space along the edge of the room works for computing or crafting. The island in the center serves as an eating area or cutting table or WHATEVER! A bar area in the corner of the room, keeps the wine chilling all night! A sweet little window seat is great for curling up with a book! I hope you like it. I am not a decorator or seamstress or carpenter, but I did everything in this room myself!!, Other Spaces Design

  • Before & After of our 1925 Cottage, Here are before & After pictures of our 1925 cottage purchase in February of this year. We have worked long and hard on the cottage and still so much more to do.

I knew the minute we drove past to look at it, that I wanted it. My husband and I could really bring her back to what she should be. We just love this little cottage all of 850 sq ft. Can't wait for the spring so we can put up a white picket fence and gate, bring in some trees and plant some flowers..., Home Exterior Design

  • Foyer - Paint it black, The previous owners of this home painted the foyer with salmon sponge paint. The floor is 100 years old (black and white marble) so I couldn't change that. I decided to make the entrance dramatic and paint it black. , Other Spaces Design

  • Nautical, Under a very small budget we took white stripes across a dark blue background. We added letters, chair rail, and beautiful details. All the bedding was a homemade gift from a family member.

Additional requested details:

The paint and primer was BEHR deep royal blue. Hate me for saying it, but it was a headache because it was really bad paint. We ended up calling customer service afterwards and they told us we needed to put on really thin coats. If we did it over again we would probably go a little lighter or use a Ralph Lauren paint.

The crib is a Creations Summer Evenings crib in black. We actually love this piece.

We found the dresser at a JcPenney outlet for only $80. The legs are actually for another piece of furniture.

The rocking chair is from Kmart and only cost around $80 as well.

***Tip: If anyone is thinking about doing stripes, make sure you use an acrylic to seal the edge. You can put a little bead on it and press down with your finger. We found this technique out afterwards, but it would have saved us hours., Boys' Rooms Design

  • Sedona Old World Beauty, This is a custom home I designed and which was built for my clients a couple of years ago. I tried to give the home the Old world touches like Earth tone tinted Stucco, real tumbled Field stone, exposed headers, Mesquite doors. and wood and wrought iron gates, and gas lamps while keeping the home up to date as well. The front tower balcony has a beautiful view of the Sedona red rocks and The Chapel and the owners enjoy this view over their morning coffee. , Home Exterior Design

  • Baby Room, We adopted our daughter so while we were waiting we had fun putting together her nursery! The wall paint is Valspar's Pianissimo from Lowe's. The fabrics came from Cutting Corners (www.fabricresource.com). Paisley fabric is called Desmond Dusk. My sweet mom made all the bedding. The "puff" flowers are from a Martha Stewart kit purchased at Michael's. I did end up making the pale pink ones on my own since the flower kit didn't have the exact shade I was looking for. Crib was a hand-me-down from my aunt. Rocker is a Pier 1 "sample" that was never reproduced (got it for a steal at a Pier 1 outlet). Bins were purchased at Lowe's. Rug is two small rugs duck-taped together purchased at Garden Ridge. Dresser and changing table are second-hand. Many blessings!
