Baby boy's room with a jungle theme and unconventional color scheme of greens and browns. This nursery incorporates bold espresso furniture and fun zebra print rug. I hope our baby likes it :-

this is my little ones room. Its a tiny room so it was hard to convince myself to put the crib under the windows but it seemed to work out. The lomger curtains are actually fabric shower curtains along with the tab top that came with his nursery theam. Its simple and yet functional with the bookshelf. And the most exspensive thing in here was the new carpet.

My husband and I had Baby Braelyn June, 2011, but planning her nursery began well before that. After a few first time DIY projects, we are very proud of ourselves and the final project.

When my husband and I found out we were having a little girl, my wheels immediately started spinning and construction began! I have always loved wainscot, so that was the first DIY project my husband tackled. I maximized space by setting the armoire caddy-corner with a changing station to the left and the crib directly on the opposing wall. The glider and ottoman is also caddy corner next to the changing station. I found an antique mahogany two-tier table with scallop edging from Craigslist -$50- and refinished it in a black pearl stain with gold etching and tulip flowers with the letter M for Baby Madison. The picture-in-picture was a design inspiration that my mom found in an interior decor magazine. We replicated the idea, wallpapering each of the inside panels bordered with molding, and placed vintage pictures that have been with my family for several years. On the 'changing station' wall, the other two picture-in-pictures have wired vintage figures of a manikin silhouette and Eiffel tower for that Parisian flare. My mother-in-law made all the bedding, drapery, and diaper hanging sack from fabric we picked out a local fabric warehouse in Buena Park, CA. The crib cornice and curtain tie backs were a great find at the Princess Canopy Shop on Etsy. They are stained in black pearl with brass/gold etching. My husband designed the M font and worked with an online wood-work company to produce the finished product at a greatly reduced price -under $40-. I bought the hanging chandelier on closeout with black shades and matching pink bows were tied using the leftover pink satin bedding fabric. The furniture is by Munire, purchased at USA Baby and the lamp was purchased on clearance at Tuesday Morning -$50-. I shopped around for the rug after finding that on an interior design website, I bought it for 50% less than retail from BoldRugs.com after they price matched another competitors price. The crib mobile was purchased on target.com.

We painted the walls 3 colors of shades from the same strip of samples from the store. Then faded the color down the wall. We made our own star "stamps" using wood cut outs hot glue & foam from the local craft store. Also applied Wallies found online. Painted the wooden rocking chair & the cupboards white. We LOVE how it turned out! I think the baby likes it too.

This is our son's nursery. We decided to go with an outdoor cabin theme. There is hardly anything out there with this theme at the major baby stores, so we created it on our own and finding things from small online shops.

Once finding out that we were expecting a Baby Girl, I knew immidately which style I wanted for her Nursery. By using new, vintage & used furniture we were able to create a shabby chic nursery that would grow with out little girl! Our biggest obstical was bringing in color to the room without painting the walls due to that we live in Military housing on Camp Pendleton & doing it all on a budget!

We updated our nursery for the baby girl who is due to arrive any day now. The bedding is Amy Coe from Target and the walls were painted yellow because with our first chld we didn't know if it would be a boy or a girl. This saved us quite a bit of money when baby #2 came because we don't have to repaint. We still have a few things to do like get letters for the wall (when you enter to spell her name and add final nick nacks for the book shelves (but that will happen with time I am sure

We recently came across some of our childhood books when going through my parent's attic. Amongst them some of our old favorites, including Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit. I couldn't wait to share them with our little guy, but when going through them, many of the pages were missing or had been colored (by our little hands when we were small. So much so, that none of the stories would be complete.
So Mom gave a new story to the little, old books.

I created this room for my son on a very tight budget. All of the furniture was handed down I plan to paint the book shelf white to match the crib and changing table.

Expecting a baby boy any day now I wanted a space for him that is bright interesting and fun. Cass's dad and I made most of what you see - the bedding window treatments curtain rods drawer pulls etc. The furniture was given to us by my sister. Cass's grandfather refinished the cedar chest. My parents gave us the chair. The artwork is a mix of young family artists and prints. Paint is Seedling Green - Martha Stewart at Lowes and some crazy tomato red color from Valspar.

I knew that I wanted the nursery to be a little bit more sophisticated that the average baby nursery so my DD could grow into it. I painted the diamonds myself and made all of the bedding/window treatments. I even repainted the dresser and bookshelf drawers to match. The crib and chair were hand-me downs from big sis but I got the dresser/changer off of ebay the chandelier off of Craig's List the bookshelf from a local boutique's floor sample sale for less than 1/2 price.

Like many we're on a budget and basically everything in the room is repurposed. The book shelf was my mom's when she was a girl the crib and changer were passed along by some good friends the rocker was used by my MIL to rock my husband as a baby (and was lovingly refinished by her with paint and hand made cushions my mother made the lambie lamp for me as a baby and the red lamp was in my little brother's room when he was a kid.
