  • Contemporary Urban Apartment, My apartment has polished concrete floors and has a bit of an awkward layout because the living room and dining area form an L shape around the kitchen. The spaces lacked definition before this big update. My apartment was flooded over the summer and thanks to renter's insurance, I was able to buy all new furniture.   • Apartment Living Room Needs Help!, I'm redecorating the living room in the apartment I share with my roommate. Because our styles are different I decided to combine her favorite colors: lime green and light blue with my modern style. I want to bring in chocolate brown to bring sophistication to the green and blue. My biggest challenge is because it is a rental apartment we can't paint the walls, so I have to be creative when bringing in color to the walls. We are also two 26 year olds on a limited budget, so lots of our furniture are hand-me-downs cuz we can't afford new stuff. We also have 2 cats and 1 small dog to take into consideration.   • Emily's Room, This is a small bedroom in an apartment. I wanted to stick to a theme. I found my bedding that was black white and red. I then wanted to add a home like effect for the room.   • The lighting... How did you do that?, Some people have asked "How did you get the lighting under the bed?" The lighting is both inexpensive and easy to install. I secured rope lighting inside the bed frame using plastic clips that have an adhesive backing. ...costs about $10 and can be found at most hardware stores. The rope lighting is plugged into an outlet that is connected to a dimmer light switch and can adjusted by a remote control devise.Thanks for all your wonderful comments and encouraging 5-star ratings!, Bedrooms Design
