  • The "My owners have NO STYLE" Kitchen!, This is our kitchen. When we moved in, it had a leaky skylight, which we patched and never finished. It was REALLY dark, with all dark wood cabinets. It was also covered with dark brown "z-brick." We painted it all white....but now we have NO idea how to finish it? Color? We just don't know...can you give us some ideas? It is basically just a long rectangular space. We've remodeled SO much of the rest of our home, but when it comes to the kitchen, we're just STUCK!, Kitchens Design

  • Country checkers, This kitchen has no flow. It has old fiberboard/pressed wood cabinets. We painted them some years ago. Then being crafty I painted the checkerboard below the chair rail with a sponge. This redo was done about 17 years ago. No dishwasher, oven was a wedding present, we have been married 25 years. Most of our cabinets don't even stay closed. I've glued some shut. We have no storage. The back splash is what in the 70's they called Z brick. , Kitchens Design

  • Soft Blue Kitchen, I painted the cabinets a soft aqua blue, and the walls cream. The valances are made from blue silk napkins and a shell button.

If I had a bigger budget, I would have redone the whole kitchen. Unfortunately, I just don't have the funding right now. So, I just painted the cabinets, have replaced the appliances, countertops, and sink, and put in a nice wood laminate floor that looks really good. Once I finish the facings on the bottoms of the cabinets, I will be done. I absolutely love it - huge improvement!, Kitchens Design
