I think the trees are lovely. But what is an eyesore is the chain link fence. A new wood or vinyl fence would do this yard wonders. I would start there and then tackle landscaping beds against the fence. Yards like yours are few and far between because they are natural and parklike, vs. manicured and boring. You can add one of those benches that surround the tree trunk. Also an outdoor deck would do wonders. Much to do but first fix the prison-like chain link fence. That has to go.
