  • The Dungeon a.k.a. The Living Room, This room was added to our house in the '90s and it was originally intended to be used as a game room we think. It originally sold us on this house but now it is so dark and depressing it's like a dungeon!! There's no insulation so its hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The wood is claustrophobic and we just want to re-do the entire room!, Living Rooms Design

  • 1970's Brady Bunch disaster, This kitchen reminds me of the Brady's kitchen. The wood cabinets are so old they cannot be upgraded. There is not a lot of space for storage etiher which creates a problem. The double oven and cook top are definitely from the 70's. There is wood trim that matches the cabinets in the middle and at the base of the walls. Also, I have a closet door made of wood as well. I rate this kitchen a -negative 5 star.....Please help!!!!, Kitchens Design

  • Man cave , This 1600 sq foot basement was unfinished when my husband started it a year ago. Having children in the service and an avid hunter led us to follow a more rustic theme. old beer signs and newspapers added to our wall hangings. living in the south we dont need much heat but did add a small gas stove to knock off the chill and to add a little "warmth. The animals were moved to the area thus creating a MAN CAVE..., Living Rooms Design

  • Dr.Jeckle Mr. Hyde Farmhouse Kitchen, My kitchen is large but divided by a wall that is concealing a rustic brick chiminey. Part of the division is my stove, so the back shows. One side is the kitchen work space the other is the dark office area. I can picture a large island in the middle flowing off the uncovered chiminey. There is space behhind it to walk around. I don't need an office, I'd rather have one cohesive kitchen. There is a large eat in area with a wall of windows. It has so much potential. I envision carriage house/farmhouse style with concrete counters and apron front sink., Kitchens Design

  • color and design help--PLEASE??!!, our kitchen and family room has so much wood! at some places there are even 2 different colors of wood next to each other and that drives me crazy! we want to modernize as much as we can on a low budget. we like the color of the fireplace wall but not the yellow. we're looking for a warm color (not too dark due to low light) to go with the oak cabinets. don't know what to do about the fireplace. I'm hoping with some color and design ideas we can modernize this space. thanks!, Kitchens Design
