  • Small Patio Makeover, When I purchased my condo, my patio was left like a junk yard, even when the stuff was removed it was terrible. The patio was made of some kind of cement with large rock mixed in, the large blocks were separated with rotted 2x4's. I didn't have much of a budget, so I hit the pennysaver for used garden stones, and Big Lots for the patio furniture. This is what my $400 plus a lot of sweat, make over turned out like. I would love to hear your thoughts., Patios & Decks Design

  • Backyard Retreat, A pool side covered pavilion complete with dining, kitchen, bar, media and lounge area makes for leisure living outdoors. We have dreamed of building an outdoor kitchen/living area for many years. After the last 2 hurricanes that hit our area, we had to cut down 5 trees. To replace the shade lost from the trees we decided it was time to make our dream become a reality. Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we love our new outdoor living area., Patios & Decks Design

  • My FREE Slate Circle Patio!, My husband used to work for a roofing company. When the company decided to move to a new location, they needed to clear all of the materials off their lot in a short period of time. They discovered a random pile of slate behind one of the buildings, and as it was not on a pallet, some was damaged, and it was an odd amount, they told us we could take away as much as we liked. So we did! And here's what we did with it., Patios & Decks Design

  • Water Garden, Newly built water feature finished in late October of 2010. We are excited about getting it running in the spring with plants, fish and pump.
Now in 2011 we are seeing the fruits of our labor in the flowers blooming around the pond. Fish survived our first winter with a blizzard and 22 inches of snow. They all made it through it and are now swimming in the sun. They have even spawned and we have young fish in the pond, complete with a duck every now and then and even a Blue Heron..yikes, NO!, Yards Design

  • 24HR REDESIGN UNDER $500, BIG CHANGE in little time and little expense for a person who can only take a little change at a time (my mom)Utilized existing furniture (10 yrs. old from P1) and restored it with Rustoleum 2x Espresso paint for rattan. Metal restored with Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze finish (and made a world of difference) New brighter COLOR & pattern for cushions. Added unused interior pillows for a mix of patterns. Repositioned furniture, and added a rug and a white bamboo (thrift) table to create a conversation area and a reading nook. Utilized hanging lanterns, ferns and wind-chimes to draw eyes up to cedar wood beam ceiling. Added white pots & white accents to also help brighten a drab space, tucked behind a FL town-home, off a pond & golf coarse. Maintained scroll bars on windows for security, but utilized as wall art (hung thrift store ladle-like candle holders) to tie into garden styling. White panels from my window panel stash, tied back with twine from seagrass, and simply hung utilizing my dads old 2" common nails (easy to remove to clean or for when a hurricane comes to town)., Patios & Decks Design
