I've been moving things around here quite a bit lately: I finally found the perfect spot for our tiki-hut - it as a little bit too big for the entrance and wasn't very functional there. We have a lot of people over, so it's perfect to keep the glass water container on it all the time now. We also got new ceiling fans - it's very hot here in Hawaii, and I wanted the fans to look more tropical so I got the woven leaf look. We added more seating and changed a few more things around:

Mid Century not so modern house transformed with opened living room area. Fantastic sunset deck view of mountains and city, low windows allow from view from the couch. The off center fireplace challenged the flat screen installation, but we arrived at a compromised solution. The fireplace surround and lower bricks aren't to our liking...might consider stainless steel. We like a clean, timeless look.

This is my living room in my new apartment. Please leave your comments and suggestions. My biggest question is should I paint the walls and if so, which colors would work?

This living room connects with the kitchen and pool table room. The jumping off point was my husband's favorite art piece from Hawaii with deep, saturated blue tones. The cherry floors were also a must. From there, I wanted a classic style but with unique touches from my accent pieces. The couch will be changed as soon as I can afford the couch of my dreams. The coffee table and side tables have cherry wood and slate stone accents below to tie in with the cherry floors, and slate waterfall. I made the curtains to accentuate the 9 ft ceilings. I added the blue velvet pattern trim on the white curtains to give them some definition and accentuate the height of the room.

The highlight of this space is the windows and skylights, allowing for lots of natural light and beautiful views. It's a contemporary space with wood ceilings, a floating marble linear fireplace, and clean-lined furnishings. There is a touch of asian influence in the bookshelves and the free standing tansu. The neutral color of the carpet was chosen to be pet friendly and low maintenance. Indirect up-lighting runs the length of the walls where they meet the ceiling and is hidden by a wood trim. There is also lighting running down the center of ceiling at the peak.

The modern holiday condo is next to a golf course. It's furnished in a minimalist style as it's also rented out. The key words were that it should look warm in winter and cool in summer season and it should accommodate 6 persons. Yellow was chosen as the accent color.

We recently redecorated our family room with new carpets, furniture and art work. The family room is off of the kitchen and what you see as you walk in the front door. Thanks for checking it out!

When challenged with a small space for a dining room consider placing the table at an angle. It worked well here in a 15x12 room.I love white furniture it pops against many colors.

Two-story high walls in my family room and an awkward traffic pattern made this room a challenge. This our place to entertain watch movies stretch out for a nap and is adjacent to the eat-in kitchen and stairway to bedrooms.

Using a combination of comfy leather club chairs sleek white slip-covered upholstery and mirrored/silver accessories I was able to have a space that was both family-friendly and glamourous. I love "drippy" chandeliers - they're like jewelry in a room. Keeping the accessories few and large-scale allow each piece to shine and stand out on its own.
