Inspired by the feel of Martha's Vineyard and decorated with some treasures from our yearly time there, our Grand Breakfast room serves as a dining room too as it is open to the Great Room and makes entertaining easier.

Family room opens to our kitchen for an "all purpose" space. Suede painted walls, Tiger Wood floors, woven shades & glossy white fireplace molding that showcases a flat screen TV create a comfortable and beautiful entertainment space for my family.

OK...so I started out, "Open and sun-filled combination of living and dining rooms, the condo is part of an 1968, architect-designed building..." But along with the 1968 design came a small, galley-style kitchen that is a dead-end. There's no storage and no counter space. There's a wooden accordian door that is an original and could close it off, but I don't even want to save this antique! Help! I'd love to expand this micro to a more loft-stylel, open kitchen. There's space behind the stove's wall that could be captured, but not sure if the work is worth it. My friends don't think I should expand and that I should just dress it up nice. Suggestions? I love to cook, but this has curbed my apetite for good food.
The ceilings are high and the light fantastic and it could be so much better.

This is the Living Room of my new home. I brought all of my "old" stuff with me and really tried to make it all work in the new house. Not everything worked, got some new stuff and of course, still need to get "just the right things" and as always tweak tweak tweak, lol. btw eventually I think I would like to extend the hardwood floors into here. I feel the flow will be better. But as they say, everything in time. As for my style I am a mix of things but mostly I love Traditional Decor, Tuscan and French Country.

We added French doors to the space to bring in more light, and to add a private master patio. We used lots of silk drapes to contribute to the room's soft, luxurious feel. I got to splurge on this one:-

What do you think of these white Bali Wood Blinds in my family/living room that leads to our back patio? I love that the wood blinds are eco-friendly, and they do a great job of insulating this room from heat and cold.

I love the wood blinds I just put up in my daughter's room. They look great, and make me feel good about how eco-friendly they are - the natural materials they were made with are 100% and they are providing energy savings in my home from improved insulation. I found them on www.greenbaliblinds.com

I just renovated my kitchen, and could not decide on the best window treatment. I could not be happier with my choice of Bali wood blinds - they look beautiful and bring a natural warmth to the room. What do you think?

The way the windows were situated, I tried to think of a creative way to do curtains. I have curtains up now, but defore I show that picture, I want to get ideas of what you think should have gone here.

Well, we just moved into our new space, and I have a dilemma with our desks. I have no idea what to do with them because of the long rectangular shape of the living room, and there is no where else to put our desks.
I can lose the side chair. I was thinking of maybe putting the desks in the corner behind it in an L-shape. I have no idea how to define an "office zone" with the dimensions of the living room. :{

This space would be a home office if we worked from home but instead we use it as a little den and library. We've painted, built the shelves and just recently put up the curtains and new white shag area rug. My questions are as follows: Do the blinds look ok under the panels? something doesn't exactly look right to me. Should we move the TV from the bookshelves and place on another less noticable wall? How would a hanging light look in the center of the room? Need to replace the desk- any suggestions on where to find it? I'm thinking writing desk. Would desk look better in front of the bookshelves? We need to keep the couch for a while, but could get a new ottoman or something else to go in front of it-suggestions, please!!!
