  • Keep on Truckin', Zac's Dad called me and asked if there was a way to take an old truck apart and reassemble it in his son's room. My initial response was "sure, anything can be done, but..." Insert 100 reasons why it wouldn't work. Let's say he was a little disappointed. As our conversation developed, it came to light that it wasn't the idea of a real truck he was hot on, it was the fact that he didn't want one cut out of plywood and painted to look like a truck. He was in love with the idea of a 3 dimensional truck. The solution I proposed was to build our own vintage truck. So that's what we did. Styled after a 1940's Ford/Chevy pick up, we sculpted a scaled down version with an extended bed to accommodate a twin mattress. We topped off our handy work with a distressed paint finish and trim pieces. The only real parts on this bed are the wheels from a volkswagon and the steering wheel. We outfitted the room with a faux garage door sporting a logo of his son Zac's fictitious custom automotive business. I apologize to those of you that had seen this a month or so ago, it seems that several of my uploads were deleted by some gliche. So, here we are again, kickin the tires., Boys' Rooms Design

  • Transportation Themed Boys Room, I've nearly completed my sons room . There are still little tweaks here & there that need to be completed...binding the area rugs adding headlights to the bus (which I can fathom how I forgot) & the floors need work where we removed wall to wall. Everything in this room was either handmade handpainted sewn or contructed by me. I had help with the construction of the bed but it was my design. My budget was extremely tight so most everything is made from repurposed items. , Boys' Rooms Design

  • Crazy for Hot Wheels / cars / trucks, I painted this room for my son who is 4. He is crazy for cars/trucks of any kind. I made sure I had at least one of each type (construction rescue etc.). I used an overhead projector & traced the vehicles on the wall then used acrylic paints to paint them. For some of the vehicles I used a metallic paint - to make it shinier and more realistic. , Boys' Rooms Design

  • Master bedroom done many ways, We used different colors of Quits and Curtians throughout the year depending on the season. I love changing the look of the room. Quilts are used as we have 2 indoor cats who love to sleep on the bed too. Therefore I'm able to throw the Quilts in the washing machine & dryer as needed. Plus I use a oversize bath towel at the bottom of the bed for the cats to lay on. They are spoiled, aren't they!, Bedrooms Design

  • Pheasant Creek Fusion, This is the bedroom in our 686 square foot condo in Lake Forest California. The condos here are converted apartments with virtually nothing in the way of architectural detail. The rooms are plain little boxes. We wanted something special so we added our own details by using a large Art Nouveau/Arts & Crafts style wallpaper border (24 inches tall) and topped it with crown moulding as well as painted trim on the lower part of the border. Eric added decorative corners for even more interest., Bedrooms Design

  • Bedroom needs help, In five year I can't decide what color to paint my bedroom walls or how to decorate it. Do I try to make the windows look as one? I would love to have a romatic bedroom but don't know how to go about it. I have a head and footboard that matches our dressers but it is a queen size and our bed is a king size. This room is a good size and has so much potential if only I could figure out what to do with it. HELP! I am open to changing anything!, Bedrooms Design

  • Log Home in North GA Mountains, In 2003 my husband and I embarked on the building of our dream retirement log lodge home and garage that we designed. The home is built from 10-inch Swedish cope Eastern white pine logs. Garage is standard frame construction. 18 months later it was as "finished" as it could be. It's still a work in progress but we love the home our wooded 16 acres and the wonderful little mountain community we now call home., Home Exterior Design

  • Our Small but cozy master bedroom, Our master bedroom is very very small and won't hold much furniture. It only has a 1/2 bathroom with a pocket door. The bathroom is rarely used. The closet is pretty large compared to the rest of the room. I made the cornice board and need to finish a roman shade for the bathroom in the same material., Bedrooms Design

  • My Bedroom, A rental apartment bedroom. I painted the focal wall aqua with beige contrasting walls. Added a lot of reflective accesories including mirror tiles behind the headboard and behind the desk. Mirror tiles are mounted on MDF and hung on non-intrusive hangers to protect the wall. The table lamps are mirrored as are two mirrored tables for accesories. The bedding and curtains are light and airy aqua and brown as are the floor area rugs. I used Mardi Gras masks for punches of color and a crystal floor lamp for additional lighting. I use the room for my pc use also and to hide the wiring I constructed a panel board painted the same as the wall. The bedroom is small with attached bathroom space with vanity, shower stall and walk-in closet., Bedrooms Design
