  • Our kitchen renovation, Our kitchen was stuck in the country blues and yellows, has no natural light source and we had 4 doorways in a 10 x 14 ft space. We'd changed the floors a couple of times and painted the cabinets and an ice maker leak was the finally straw to updating and doing it the way we really wanted. Flipping the sink to the opposite wall with the frig totally opened up the kitchen, adding a pass thru to the dining room for natural light, closing a wasted door space, electrical, plumbing and new cabinets, flooring, micro, sink, lighting, paint. We did all the work ourselves, stripping popcorn--my personal favorite and the rest--my husband is an amazing guy. , Kitchens Design

  • From White to Warm, This is our recent kitchen remodel. While we liked our old kitchen everything was falling apart. We installed cherry cabinets with a whiskey black glaze vinyl slate flooring copper antique granite and a faux tile backsplash done with paint (we reached burnout and just couldn't deal with tiling on top of everything else ;-) Wanted to share to see what everyone thought. , Kitchens Design

  • Kozar Kitchen Ballinger, Casual, yet elegant kitchen with lighted glass cabinets, large island, and beautiful tile backsplash. Contrasting island and hood in mocha finish. Range hood is framed behind kitchen island with two drum chandeliers. Touches of elegance are the deep rich colors, contrasted by the medium taupe-greys in the tiled backslpash. The backsplash over the cooktop has crushed glass tiles as the frame, with casual patterned tile as the backdrop. Hand-painted pottery and Bohemian crystal carefully arranged in the lighted cabinets, give the feel of casual elegance., Kitchens Design

  • Kitchen almost done, just needs different wall color, Our reno consisted of a complete demo of the cabinets. We chose to go with Espresso finished cabinets from Kitchen Maid w/ undermount lighting. Tumbled tile backsplash w/ glass inserts and tumbled strip. New stainless appliances. Quartz coutertop. Brass light fixture has since been replaced with stainless steel 3 light. All we have left is to change the wall color. Not sure what color to go with...thinking of a light green, yellow or cream color., Kitchens Design

  • HELP!!! Cabinet color is ruining my appetite!, This is the eating nook off my kitchen. I love the windows and the corner cabinets BUT the color of the cabinets is awful! They are a 90's yellowish-pink color. My color palette is dark brown (wall color, expresso colored furnture, leather on the seating, suede drapes and lampshade), cream, with green accents. I know I want to paint the insides a contrasting color to the cabinets. So do I paint the cabinets cream like the trim (at least it would get rid of the yello-pink tones)? Paint them a dark brown? But won't that be too much with the walls and furniture? Or get brave and do an olive (grayish green) or go really wild and do a lime green (not neon of course)? So if I go green on the cabinets do I use the brown wall color on the insides or do I do a wallpaper? AND whatever I chose has to work with the kitchen since it is 1 BIG space! I would love to restain my cabinets but it is too time consuming and expensive so painting is the better option for me since I will be doing it myself on the weekends and nights after work! Oh and the kitchen is another issue all together! C'mon DIYers gimme what ya got! Pleassssse!, Dining Rooms Design

  • Clean Sweep Style Garage Makeover, This is our two car detached garage. It was so full of "stuff" you could not see the back wall from the open double garage door! While my husband was away on business, I did a clean sweep. Two dumpsters, several bruises and some long soaks in a very hot tub later...the garage is clean, organized and even has a garage office for my husband!, Garages Design
