  • Church Basement Sunday School Room, I tried to piece together some pictures so you could get an overall feel for the room. This was a quick fix for a dreary room. We painted Kilz on the moisture-damaged basement walls and covered that with the base coat. We then painted rectangles of bright colors using craft paints. The pictures of the cartoon kids were made from foam and mounted on foam board. The Bible verse was cut out from craft foam and stuck to the blue-painted border with sticky pads., Nurseries Design

  • Open Space-Our living, dining, kitchen area, We don't want a rating. It's BAD. We just want help. Our house is stuck in the '80s--when it was built. We love art, NYC lofts, and would like our home to represent something much more modern than it currently reflects. We have concrete floors, and would like more concrete, bolts and a modern, industrial interior. We want that New-York-loft feeling in South Louisiana. My husband and I are both teachers, but we are very creative and open to lots of innovative suggestions. We have twin 8-year-old boys, and want to make sure that consideration is given to their lives in our tiny amount of space--2,000 sq. ft., i.e., IKEA-like, whimsical kid design incorporated with our modern tastes. Also, we love our books, so please don't suggest we get rid of them. They are a part of our daily lives and decor. Please help., Other Spaces Design

  • wouldn't school be fun with a desk like this?, This desk was giving to me by a dear friend years ago. It was partially stripped cracked falling apart. My grandaughters used it for their paper and colors playing school and waitress. DH has wanted me to get rid of it a number of times but I held on moving it from place to place., Living Rooms Design

  • Living Room - Needs window treatments, I chose historic Finnaren and Haley "knightly straw" for front hall and bottomw half of this living room. The top half is Knightly Straw half strength (mixed with white). I like the color in this room - but the hall (20 foot ceiling!) can be too bright (yellow instead of creamy butter.) The LR still needs window treatments. I have gold colored long silk panels - but need a "top" treatment. What d you think of room? Any top treatment ideas? I was thinking of white formal wooden cornices., Living Rooms Design

  • Outdated, faded and boring bedroom, My bedroom, on occasion, has to serve many functions. It's my LR, BR, DR and homework room. I spend way toooo much time in my bedroom because of being disabled with chronic severe back and fibromyalgia.
Right now my bedroom is faded and boring. I need it to be cheerful and updated. So, when I am stuck in it I won't get even more depressed just looking around the room.
Any low budget suggestion would be helpful? I was thinking of either going with a tuscan feel or a blue/white cottage feel.
I also need some on making the furniture I have multi-tasking?.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated., Bedrooms Design

  • Coffee Cafe, I wanted create a warm cozy kitchen and still keep it bright. I made the curtains and repainted the hutch and
small window sideboard to match my
kitchen table. After a fire, we installed
new ceramic floor and appliances. Backsplash to match decor. New granite counters (Granite Transformations which is a put right
over your existing counter top, lots
cheaper & lifetime guarantee) Walls painted 2 different shades of cocoa.
Decorations of different coffee things
and some Italian Cafe Cafe coffee flair.
The picture is hung a little high to hide
the old clock electric outlet on the wall.
I could hang something else over the picture to hide the outlet and lower the
picture but I don't know what that would be and I want it to keep it
simple. I have included upclose pictures of the curtains I made. I used
a set of old swags for a pattern and then made front in back in the fabrics I wanted using decorative roping on the edges.. Pulling them up and just used
a straight pin to attach to top of rod., Kitchens Design
