  • My Computer Room with it's Storage Closet, These are pictures of my computer room! I guess one could say I'm kind of computer "geek" because I have three - yes that's three - computers. I use each one for a different reason. The closet in this room is also my "storage" closet for all those things like Christmas ornaments and excess computer gear (except when it's full like now and they end up in the middle of the floor!)., Other Spaces Design

  • Crawl Space Turned Studio!, Creative use of 4 foot tall crawl/storage space. Formerly our storage - area you have to climb up and in to get into. I needed a studio space. Living in the city and abutted by other buildings...there was no where else to look for extra space! So with 4 feet of unimpeded head room (5 feet between floor joists – I can stand up straight!)...my hobbit hole studio space was created! It has a window, running water, electricity, lights, storage between heating ducts, my bench, work surfaces, anvil, kiln, tools....and all seats on wheels so you don't have to stand very often! You can roll from station to station! Just remember to climb up and crawl in! Believe it or not - it works really well!, Other Spaces Design

  • Small Bathroom - Beautiful and blue from - 1970's ugly and worn out. , This bathroom desperately needed help. The bathroom is in a 70's house and is very small. The tile job is bad and the vanity is too large for the space. The tile has plastic wood trim and lots of caulk around it which makes me think that the tile job may be much worse than it looks on the surface. I am going to find out what lies beneath.

I striped most of the walls down to the studs and started installing my new blue bathroom. The mosaic tile took a while to put together. After that everything went up fairly easy. Replaced the vanity, counter, toilet, medicine cabinet adding trim around and to the ceiling. I added storage shelves recessed in the wall with trim to the ceiling to match the medicine cabinet and vanity, which I had added decorative wood to the door and drawers. The only thing that was not replaced was the tub which we had refinished to match the toilet and sink. The piece of granite for the counter was actually given to me as a 36 X36 at a granite fabricator. The man thought I would not be able to do anything with it (He was so wrong) and I thank him very much for my granite counter top. I cut it to fit the vanity, did the rock finish edging, and cut the hole for the sink in just over an hour. I had a budget of $900.00 for the bathroom. Doing all of the work myself with the exception of refinishing the tub I spent $846.98 to totally redo this hall bathroom. Could not have done it at all if I had to pay for demo and all of the instillations of medicine cabinet, counter, tile floor and shower, mosaic, built-ins, vanity, sink, toilet, faucets, Just the custom mosaic would have taken my budget.

  • Modern and Organized Office/Crafts Room!, It took me three months to design my crafts room and office. I looked for versatile storage, that was neat and organized and easily accessible. I wanted the paint to be bold and vibrant, but not annoying. I also created various areas in the room for certain crafts like; scrapbooking, gift wrapping, painting, sewing, and bow making. I love this room and spend hours everyday creating! , Home Offices Design

  • Spa like on a small budget, from old and plain for 1,600, Spa like on a small budget, from old and plain. My son and daughter in law recently bought a new home. They asked me to redo their bathroom. They wanted shades of brown and that is what they got. It was a good size bathroom but it had a lot of wasted space. I gutted the room and while doing so I found an open space beside the tub in which I added a wonderful built in storage space. The tub was taken out and replaced with a shower. The counter site was moved to the side wall and doubled in size. The cabinets have tilt outs and the silent close feature. The cabinet on the right has a laundry shoot to the laundry room below. The cabinets and granite counter top were a wonderful find for their budget. They could have easily spent most of their budget on just the cabinet and counter top. The counter top is St. Cecilia with a beautiful edge and under mount sink. Everything in the bathroom is new and it was all done for $ 1,600.00. I love shopping for bargains. It really pays to shop around when doing a remodel.

  • Clean Sweep Style Garage Makeover, This is our two car detached garage. It was so full of "stuff" you could not see the back wall from the open double garage door! While my husband was away on business, I did a clean sweep. Two dumpsters, several bruises and some long soaks in a very hot tub later...the garage is clean, organized and even has a garage office for my husband!, Garages Design

  • Narrow Entryway, This is our front hallway/entryway that is incredibly narrow. Since it's the first thing you see when you walk in, we wanted to make it pretty and obviously, functional. We really started working on it during Apartment Therapy's January Cure, adding hooks, baskets, and decorating the cabinet. It works really well for us and it's nice walking in and seeing something pretty! You can see more details on my blog http://shoes-off-please.com, Other Spaces Design

  • Sewing Nook, This is a small sewing nook I have created in our upstairs hallway. For this one - I have the before & after pic, which I think helps to see how I went up and created shelves. There really is only room for a desk and a chair so I needed to be creative - and - as always remodel on the cheap with minimal effort from my husband!

  • Need Help, we need two spaces in one., This room was a garage that previous owners converted into a pool table room. We had to turn it back into a garage/storage area. I tore up the shag carpet, pulled the paneling off the walls and moved in. We have a small house 1400 ft. with this space. I plan on building a detached garage in the future, but for now we need this as living space and tool space. I need help. How can I divide this space for both? A wall up the middle, MAYBE? , Garages Design
