  • Sawyer's Nursery, This is the nursery that my husband and I created for our first child (due in Dec.) There are still some finishing touches that we need to add - but its almost done. We didn't want anything too babyish or fadish - so we went with a vintage/classic toy/car theme and tried to make it a room that our little guy can stay in for a few years. We were also on a very strict budget with this room - we did everything for less then 500.00, Nurseries Design

  • Ocala living , Ours is a GREAT Room that combines the features of a Living room & company dinning with a gas converted stone fireplace for a country lodge feeling.
You Are Classic & Sophisticated

My desire would be simple and clean, traditional but also chic. I am drawn to light colors and timeless furnishings. I would like to think I am refined, and I expect my home to reflect the same level of style.

My color personality palette consists of all shades of neutrals, from white to gray to taupe to many hues in between. This palette is one that offers great versatility. I have tried to Enliven neutral furniture pieces with bright pillows for fun easy changes that still keeps me grounded., Living Rooms Design

  • Master Suite - Contemporary remodel, We changed what was a Master bedroom connected to a Master bathroom into a full Master Suite. We took up the carpet and put in cement floors, we took out the large window and put in french sliding doors to give access to the deck and the backyard. The firplace is open to the Master bedroom and the Master Bath and we put in grey/red glass and took out the gas logs. We took the bathroom down to the studs and moved the toilet and took out the bathtub and made a his and hers (his) bathroom with a full walk in showers on both sides of the back wall.
The final part to this Master Suite is the bed- we are using a make shift bed for now as we work toward our dream (and final piece) bed made of iron (cost for bed is $3,000.00) after spending $32,000.00 on the Master Suite makeover it will take some time to get the bed.
I am posting a picture of the bed so you can get an idea of what the final room will look like. , Bedrooms Design

  • Crawl Space Turned Studio!, Creative use of 4 foot tall crawl/storage space. Formerly our storage - area you have to climb up and in to get into. I needed a studio space. Living in the city and abutted by other buildings...there was no where else to look for extra space! So with 4 feet of unimpeded head room (5 feet between floor joists – I can stand up straight!) hobbit hole studio space was created! It has a window, running water, electricity, lights, storage between heating ducts, my bench, work surfaces, anvil, kiln, tools....and all seats on wheels so you don't have to stand very often! You can roll from station to station! Just remember to climb up and crawl in! Believe it or not - it works really well!, Other Spaces Design

  • A very small condo in our nations capital, A small condo with a mix of old and new styles. The condo was built in the mid 1920's as apartments. At the time they were turned into condo's the only updates were to the kitchens and baths. The building sits directly across the street from the national cathedral, so the view is amazing.

As you can see, we have a lot of stuff in a very small space. This is after we edited things down quite a bit. I've tried to make the space look larger by using the paint color through out the main living areas. It is a Behr paint called Harvest Brown, the kitchen has a different color also by Behr called Grape Leaf. The bedroom is a little darker with a Behr paint called Butternut Wood.
We have an odd mix of pieces through out the space, some being brand new while others are family pieces. There are also a few found pieces that I have collected from salvage shops and alleys.
My only complaint about the space is that their is very little room for entertaining, although we have had as many as 40 people into the condo during parties. We are looking forward to feedback both good and bad, and open to suggestions.

I've uploaded a few more pictures, I've redone some of the wall hangings in the entry hall and dining area.

Thanks for checking it out., Living Rooms Design

  • Akward, Media Room in Desperate Need of Angelo, Please Help, please be my angel Angelo, Awkward Media Room. I have no idea what color to paint, plus not sure where to end the paints because the room leads into so many other rooms. Odd shaped angles which makes it impossible for me to pick out art for my walls. Outdated, fireplace that's not up to code, ugly mantle, doesn't even meet up to the wall correctly there is a gap between side of fireplace and the wall. Water damaged ugly popcorn celings. I think you get the hint this room is in desperate need. My vcr and tivo are dangerously hanging over the tv because no shelf for the componets. It is a disaster waiting to happen for them to come crashing down. , Media Rooms Design

  • My combination living and dining room that I've been struggling with, This is my living room/dining room. The color was orginally green, but not a pretty green a green that made the room feel tiny, and was so dark. So I painted it apricot but it ended up more yellow. I had been trying to go for a tuscan vibe at one time, now I have no idea. No one ever uses this room, and I am trying to find a way to make it more comfortable and inviting. Someone deliberitly dropped the celing, and it makes the room feel tiny, and then they added the popcorn celing to make it even more difficult, they even popcorned the top of the window seat area. , Living Rooms Design
