Awkward Media Room. I have no idea what color to paint, plus not sure where to end the paints because the room leads into so many other rooms. Odd shaped angles which makes it impossible for me to pick out art for my walls. Outdated, fireplace that's not up to code, ugly mantle, doesn't even meet up to the wall correctly there is a gap between side of fireplace and the wall. Water damaged ugly popcorn celings. I think you get the hint this room is in desperate need. My vcr and tivo are dangerously hanging over the tv because no shelf for the componets. It is a disaster waiting to happen for them to come crashing down.

I've been working on trying to update my kitchen, but have run out of funds for the time being. I was able to update with a new microwave and refridgerator, and new celing fan. There is no backsplash the wall above the stove is damaged from removing hideous wallpaper.

A little bit of the tropics in the midwest. We have to do the best we can in Ohio! We have to drag the bananas and palms in every winter but it's worth it! It's a great place to relax and have a cool frosty drink.

I recently graduated from law school AND dorm room design. My old apartment had a fouton and a pleather love seat so this is a huge improvement for me. The walls are bare but that is my project over the next few months. I have two sofas on either side of the room and would appeciate any suggestions as to how to decorate above them!

This is my living room/dining room. The color was orginally green, but not a pretty green a green that made the room feel tiny, and was so dark. So I painted it apricot but it ended up more yellow. I had been trying to go for a tuscan vibe at one time, now I have no idea. No one ever uses this room, and I am trying to find a way to make it more comfortable and inviting. Someone deliberitly dropped the celing, and it makes the room feel tiny, and then they added the popcorn celing to make it even more difficult, they even popcorned the top of the window seat area.

We fell in love with our home mainly because a master bedroom/den in a loft area seemed so romantic. Three years later we're raising the white flag because of the lack of storage and the toilet and cubby areas have absolutely no door solutions.
The bed is atop a four inch "stage" under the northern dormer. The TV/media area/home office is under the western dormer. The southern dormer houses a sunroom we were able to successfully remodel. The western dormer is where the "problem" tub/closet/toilet are. We can't figure out a way to give the toilet privacy due to the angle of the dormer.

This is the nursery that my husband and I created for our first child (due in Dec. There are still some finishing touches that we need to add - but its almost done. We didn't want anything too babyish or fadish - so we went with a vintage/classic toy/car theme and tried to make it a room that our little guy can stay in for a few years. We were also on a very strict budget with this room - we did everything for less then 500.00

We changed what was a Master bedroom connected to a Master bathroom into a full Master Suite. We took up the carpet and put in cement floors, we took out the large window and put in french sliding doors to give access to the deck and the backyard. The firplace is open to the Master bedroom and the Master Bath and we put in grey/red glass and took out the gas logs. We took the bathroom down to the studs and moved the toilet and took out the bathtub and made a his and hers (his bathroom with a full walk in showers on both sides of the back wall.
The final part to this Master Suite is the bed- we are using a make shift bed for now as we work toward our dream (and final piece bed made of iron (cost for bed is $3,000.00 after spending $32,000.00 on the Master Suite makeover it will take some time to get the bed.
