  • My FREE Slate Circle Patio!, My husband used to work for a roofing company. When the company decided to move to a new location, they needed to clear all of the materials off their lot in a short period of time. They discovered a random pile of slate behind one of the buildings, and as it was not on a pallet, some was damaged, and it was an odd amount, they told us we could take away as much as we liked. So we did! And here's what we did with it., Patios & Decks Design

  • Formal, warm and inviting living room, This is the room that would typically be called the formal living room. We are casual and have young children. I think the space is well suited to our lifestyle. It is a perfect space for conversation or to curl up and read a book. After dinner parties we generally circulate into the space for after dinner drinks and dessert. I still need to change out the previous drapery. It is not my style. It does match to some degree so it has been a little farther down on my to do list. I'll get them done, hopefully this year. Enjoy and thanks for looking!, Living Rooms Design

  • Foyer-Entryway, Please HELP! I am in the process of finishing our entry way. I did two mock scenes today of our space. I have three olive jars that I just threw some greenery and sticks in to give it a feel for the space. If I go with the olive jars they will have a more uniform finish but still be a bit rustic.
The other scene I created is with a round table and floral arrangement on top. If I go with the table choice, I will purchase one that is taller and bigger in diameter. I also would do a much larger arragement on top.
Please help me with choosing one of these two ideas. My entry is a hard space to work with. I have three little kids that love to run through the space so it has to be friendly and open for them. I also want what will look the best to greet people when they come through our door.
THANKS!!!, Other Spaces Design

  • Foyer, Our Foyer was a difficult space to fill. A couple years ago I asked for opinions on the corner space where the olive jars are placed. I ended up filling them with florals and I feel they look great. They fit the space and ended up being good option for a difficult area. I keep our foyer open and free from clutter. My children like to use the space for overflow from their playroom when playing. It is warm and inviting space, which I think greets our guests nicely into our home. During parties I place a beautiful center table in the middle of my rug. It has worked well to place a guest book and beautiful arrangements that tie to the theme of my parties. I think it is a fabulous space that can work well during different times of the year. In these pictures you will see how we keep it on a typical basis. Enjoy! , Other Spaces Design

  • Modern-retro update on 1959, This is a design I created on my PC using interior design software. The room was gutted down to the studs by my husband, who spent the next two months re-building (with the help of some friends and a few professionals) the room. It's not quite finished, but I wanted to share., Kitchens Design

  • Natural materials are more comfortable, This is my home office/studio at the north end of the house. I knew I’d spend a LOT of time in this space, so again I chose my favorite color: WOOD.
