This is my green small living room a gathering of my furniture and my boyfriends furniture, I think I did okay with combining our furniture together we both have the same taste so it was fairly easy. I will post our bedroom photos next and you tell me if I did okay incorporating that space too, more to come. Thanks for your honesty:

We like to keep our holiday decor color schemes & themes neutral. We are relatively new homeowners, so we don't have a ton of decorations yet, but each year we add to our collection...hope you like it!

If the link doesn't work and it says link doesn't exist on the blog, IT DOES EXIST. Just copy and paste it into the browser and it will work. I don't know why that happens sometimes. (The link adds a

at the end of the webaddress, you can also just delete that and it'll take you to the tutorial
I finally purchased a new couch and I love it. The couch is the Claudia Sofa from Macy's.
Now I'm still on the hunt for a new coffee table. I'm kind of getting sick of my ottoman which I had only bought because my kids were toddlers and I didn't want them to get hurt on hard edges and corners.
For the coffee table I think I will go with a gold Hollywood Regency table or a modern chrome and marble top table. Lets see what I can find in an affordable option.
A lot of people always ask me why I have light colored flooring even though that the trend is to go really dark. The reason is dust and dirt! Most of my friends that have dark floors go crazy trying to keep their dark hardwood floors looking clean. I don't, because you can't see the dust and cat hair from 4 cats as much. That is also the reason why I have a traditional persian style area rug. I actually would much rather have a graphic patterned rug but they are hard to keep clean again. I've tried other rugs before. The pattern of my rug is forgiving!
That is the reason why I have the ikea pillows. They are easy to wash and keep clean. And if one is ruined, they are cheap and easy to replace.
I guess I'd rather compromise with my large busy family. Two kids and four cats do make a lot of dirt but my house mostly looks clean!

The silver angel came from Marshall's and the trees I found at 60% off at Hobby Lobby. The crystal nutcracker candlesticks are from the Christmastree shop. I used footed crystal candle plates as salad plates and crystal bowls, both also from the Christmastree shop at only a couple of dollars a piece. The little crystal salt cellars are from a local consignment shop - I got 6 of them for $3.

Wanted to be surrounded with beautiful things and a place to relax!! The camel back upholstered headboard in white gave the bedroom the elegance and comfortable look I wanted. The beautiful things are reflected in the mirrored night tables with the silver, the crystal, and all the black and white pictures we took from our travels and the special moments in our lives.

I recently redid my kitchen and wanted to add a very personnal touch. My backsplash is a one of a kind masterpiece. It is created by using recycled pottery, grandma's old teacups and shards.

This is the master bedroom and bathroom in our 1400 sq. ft. condo. My goal was to design something that my husband and I would like, would maximize the space, and would be neutral enough to also appeal to buyers when we look to sell the unit in the next few years.
The wall color is Valspar 'Pirate Coast', the furniture is Vaughan-Bassett, the bedding is from Restoration Hardware, the shade is from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and the prints are from Homegoods.
With three small children, my husband and I definitely deserve a restful, beautiful room. I created this space to feel sophisticated and elegant without being TOO ornate. The elegance of the furniture is balanced with the simple beauty of the lamps and mirror. My husband has to live in this room, too, so this is a nice balance of feminine and masculine by using black, leather and nail-head trim. The walls are Valspar's "Lighthouse Shadows". The ceiling is "Cream in My Coffee". Since the ceiling is vaulted, we added the molding to "bring the ceiling down" and create a cozier space. Painting the ceiling the same color as the upper wall helped complete this feel.
The bedding was surprisingly purchased at Walmart about 2 years ago. I made the curtains, wall monogram and headboard with a little muscle from hubby. I removed the original "matchy matchy" mirror on the dresser and added this large solid wood one from Homegoods - only $50! Other accessories in the room are from Marshalls, Target, Homegoods, Ross, etc. I successfully convinced my husband to take down the ceiling fan and put up the chandelier instead...bought at Home Depot.
I finally LOVE our bedroom and the feeling it brings us.

Inspired by plantation homes throughout the Caribbean I have used silver porcelain china silk and West Indies landscapes to capture the elegance of the British West Indies.

It was a big challenge to work with such a small space and a limited budget with high expectations. My inspiration for the whole room was a grouping of canvases that I painted a contemporary paisley pattern. First I replaced my track celing fan with a chandelier that adds a great sparkling affect to the new striped off white metalic walls. I added a vanity that I purchased from an auction, I used a crackel finish with silver and topped it off with the metalic paint. I took the mirror off and decided to use the previous vanity as a contemporary desk. I also purchased an old oak buffet and spruced it up with off white paint and silver accents to become my entertainment/storage credenza. I finished the room with layers of coordinating fabrics for the bed and drapes. I am so pleased with how it turned out I love the shiny affect that the room has, I enjoyed working on the room and now spending time in my paisley glamour bedroom :
