  • Drab to Fab Kitchen Make-over, Our kitchen is small to begin with so the dark farm-style decor that came with the house just wouldn't do. By re-purposing what we could, adding a little paint, new counter tops, and a whole lot of energy, we ended up with something much more "us.", Kitchens Design

  • It's New - White Cabinets & Soapstone, We just finished demolishing our 20-year old kitchen which had a laminate floor, laminate counter, and laminate cabinets. This white classic kitchen includes hardwood flooring, white maple cabinets, chrome hardware, soapstone counter top, LED undercounter strip lighting, subway and glass backsplash, crown molding, sink and chrome faucet. The same layout was kept because it worked well., Kitchens Design

  • Homemade headboard, Two 18 in hollow core doors from Home Depot which were about 18.00 a piece from Home Depot. Turned sideways they make a perfect King size headboard. I then put 16 bamboo placemats on them which were 1.99 each from TJ max. Also the headboard lights up with rope lights attached to the back. It's a big grand headboard made for under 100.00 and nobody can tell it's homemade! My chair was 75.00 from Craigslist and my jewerly stand was 25.00 (I spray painted it) and both my lamps were 30.00 from Big Lots. I love a deal:) , Bedrooms Design

  • Company bedroom, I painted the walls a light tan color. Found a great looking bedspread and pillows. I took the rug from another room and it worked well as it had the same tan color in it.I know the chairs are too much but they are just there until we sell our camper then they go back in it. This room seems cozy to me. Any comments are appreciated so much. , Bedrooms Design

  • From Hole in the floor to whole new kitchen., This kitchen was rebuilt from joists and studs up. We renovated this kitchen from hole in the floor caused by a water leak to a whole new kitchen. Top of the line was a must for this home as it is in an area where homes sell for $1700 to $2000 per square foot. Great focus was placed on energy efficiency. Everyday items (pots, pans, dishes, bowls, mixers, scale, measuring cups) used in the kitchen are hand me downs for the most part, thus recycled. Now the kitchen has Wolf,Meile, and Perlick appliances. It has Jerulselun stone backsplash and flooring, carmel stack stone fireplace with thermostat controlled heat, radiant heat flooring, pompiano limestone countertops, copper farm sink,Rohl pot filler and fixtures, LED lighting in cabinets, cans and under cabinets. It has faux finish washed walls, custom cabinets with antique custom paint finish and stain finishes. Also included, is Sattelite TV connection,Broadband, innovative use of corner cabinets, spice cabinet, garbage pull outs. In the glass cabinets are items of memories. The memories are appreciated and used daily. Fiesta ware, old mixers, old pyrex, California ware, Robin Hood ware belonged to mom, grandma, great grandma and great aunts. We serve up memories and dreams in this kitchen. , Kitchens Design

I have ivory old school formica cabinets with wood trim. I've primed the trim Will add a molding on top of the cabinets also white. Add brushed nickel knobs or handles. Colorwise - I have Bleeker Beige in the adjoining room (DR) - need a complimentary color but can't decide. HELP!Am I heading in the right direction with this design idea?, Kitchens Design

  • Need Fireplace Help!, Just moved into a new house and need help deciding how to fix the living room fireplace. It is a textured brick with brick supports under the mantel (painted by the previous owners). We're thinking of painting the whole thing temporarily and chiseling off the supports and covering it with stained wood veneer permanently. The house is a craftsman bungalow and our taste is very modern: simple clean and warm.Suggestions of how to fix temporarily and permanently will be appreciated. , Living Rooms Design
