We moved from NY to Sarasota, FL recently. Sarasota was the home of Mr. Ringling (of the famed barnum circus. I was influenced by the local history, and decided to use subtle nods towards the circus in the design. We're right down the street from the Ringling school of art and design (where David Bromstadt of "color splash" went to school! The view is amazing, so I thought that creating a curtain that frames the front of the apartment would be a good way to showcase it. We matched the paint color to the sky, so that the space feels like an extension of the sky and water. Stars and stripes in red and blue subtly exhibit the circus theme.

this is my new babies bedding. She doesn't have her own room now, so that is why you just see the bed, but i am looking for paint color ideas for the future. I would like to do stripes at least half way up the wall, then maybe a chair rail and solid color the rest of the way up.

We bought new furniture and a new rug and we painted a wall red to add some punch. I'm asking for your help in selecting wall decor and accent pieces. I have 3 framed poppies prints (1 large and 2 small to go on the lighter walls (but where? and the ledges/clock will probably need to be moved. Let me know what you think!

Red and Black kitchen

Almost a year ago had major fire in my kitchen. So this is how I decorated it after they repared the apartment. The center peice on the table has a glass piler holder and then surrounded by red glass beads. Looks like fire embers when candle is lit. As you can tell by photos I can turn placemats over from red to black. I appriciate comment about wall color yes I would love to color but this is apartment not a luxery I am allowed.
