The pool is 33 ft long has a seat under the waterfall which is the best place to be in our hot weather. We have a wet deck made out of quartz you can sit inside the pool without actually going in

My husband is so creative and talented. This is our backyard and pool before landscaping. He built this pool himself; many granite rocks (like the tall one for the waterfall ir real and incorporated within; others he fauxed to blen in with the rock outcroppings. Yes the pool has a 110' waterslide. It is so much fun!
Thanks for the great comments....my husband loves his kids. He wanted to build a pool because 2 out of our 3 kids have special needs that really enjoy the pool. Our friends truly love it, young AND old. Thanks for sharing with us.

as with the rest of our home, the pool had been ignored for several decades. it was a black pit full of snakes and frogs when we moved in since it had been left uncovered and uncared for for at least 15 years. We did a lot of work to clean i up and make it functional again, and then embarked on the process of making it beautiful. Now - it's a space we entertain in all the time. My kids don't know how lucky they are!!!

Hi Friends- Ive updated some new stuff on this project for a client of mine in NC. Acutally this is my first pool project. Its was fun creating but lengthy in time. There are multi patio levels 2 outdoor kitchen waterfalls and lots of fire. We actually had to dig out into a hill to get everything in.

My first design and construction challenge that I've accepted solely on my own. Thank God the project is nearing an end. Climbing vines, a bit of trim to complete the columns... etc still to go...but it's coming along.
It has been called a poolhouse, but I don't think that is accurate. Some call it a Cabana, one friend refers to it as a pavillion, another calls it "the structure". It is 11' tall, 12' wide / deep and 34' long / across the front. As you can tell from the picture, the sides are square lattice, the back wall is 10' of lattice and 24' of solid wall with a judges paneling trim finnish and of course a wood / propane fireplace. It has a flat, tin roof with a slight pitch for water run off. The columns are 11.5" square. The small section to the left in the picture was designed with the idea of putting a small bath in, but my father was in an accident and that space is being used for the lift that helps us get him in and out of the pool safely. The drapes are a marine fabric that pull closed when the sun shines directly into the building...which is great because it remains cool and very comfortable on hot summer days. The chandelier is iron, it was handcrafted for my home (a different house about 15 years ago and has since been in my house in California and now here (a sentimental piece I guess. Unfortunately these pictures don't show it well.
I have to admit. I am a little aprehensive about putting this out there for a critique because I've worked so hard on it (maybe it feels that way because I'm not a builder but on the other hand, I am open to some great ideas of how I can step it up a bit and take it to it's maximum potential. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. Kevin

This a repost of SOMETHING'S MISSING?? This is the result of all your super feedback. You were right!! The waterfall is enough, I don't need anything on the top of the grotto. Thank all of you for your kindness.
