  • Help! Paint idea 4 knotty pine kitchen!, This is the kitchen that came with the house. Ugh. Stuck w/ knotty pine cabinets (no time to paint) but trying to paint walls. Hope to paint the trim, doors white but leave cabinets for a few years until I can afford to paint or replace them. Counters are a dark green/black marble; tried 5 different green paints. Some too light, too avocado, too grey/green. HELP me pick the right wall color (green, preferably), not too dark as kitchen is very dark. Or another wall color! I am at my wits end with the kitchen., Kitchens Design

  • curtain color conundrum, I love the ''sundried tomato color on my walls. I had chocolate brown cotton velvet curtains all winter...the sheers were to keep bright am sun from baking the room like a pizza. I have been looking at a pale lime or pale turquoise, peacock green or blue, in a velvet or fake silk. Does anyone have an idea? The fan and extra pillows leave when my studio floor has been replaced...well, and summer is over>, Living Rooms Design

  • Cowboy Lodge Living Room, Mountain living at its best with a western twist. Comfortable yet elegant. Still need to put in the fireplace. It's hard to see but there are rifles and a deer head above where the fireplace should be. There are also wooden blinds in all of the windows. There are no curtains because we want the million dollar view to be the focal point. , Living Rooms Design

  • What's Red and Velvet with Pillows All Over? My couch!, My husband found this red couch. I started from there and found a soft yellow color for the walls. Eventually, I will convince my husband to repaint the room a slightly deeper yellow. I think it would be warmer with less contrast. But I don't see that happening anytime soon. Do you think it's too many dark colors? I realize red is a bold color choice for furniture. Although I'm not sure this couch screams ME I do like it and would love to read what you think is and isn't working in my space.

  • Help! Confused., Our kitchen is large, 20' X 20' with high ceilings, built in 1904. It contains a sink, electric stove and refrigerator, and 50's style Sears cabinets. Also a woodstove, with fake brick wall behind. We stripped 4 layers off the floor down to the wood. There are 5 doors off the kitchen, 3 are missing, and 2 need work. One has a transom above. Walls are plaster with layers of wall paper and paint over that. Rate this kitchen as low as possible, and then maybe the design team can help me restore it. The potential is HUGE., Kitchens Design

Combined with tan sofas, beige rugs, and wood furniture, the room is dark and blah. Storage is also big issue.
