  • Ayana's Sweet and Modern Nursery, I am a lover of contemporary living. Ever since I thought of making our daughter's nursery I was looking for something that looks modern and contemporary. After my rigorous research I finally settled down to "Gray and Yellow" theme, Gray was to give the room that elegance and Yellow was to diffuse that freshness and incandescence for a girl's room. I loved how the combination was vivid as well as graceful.

However, I wanted to keep a balance between splurging for the nursery and 'thinking too much'. I think I was able to get to it finally!

I got my inspiration from all the beautiful projects that have been submitted already. I had previously done my son's room, and I also wanted Ayana's room to be as pretty as she herself is.

  • EM'S ROOM (2 YRS OLD), My mom handpainted the dresser that I used when I was young. We painted the bed that my husband had used when he was little. I added the poms to give some different depths and color contrasts to the green - you never can go wrong with green and pink! The framed drawing at the foot of the bed is her "take" on her brother when I was still pregnant with him - it is called "Mommy's Baby." The curtains were made for her original nursery but I thought they were too cute to pack away! , Girls' Rooms Design

  • Pink and Brown Chic Nursery, I wanted a nursery that my daughter could sleep and play in but that I enjoyed being in as well. This space is something she can grow in. I love coming in here because its just so comfy! The furniture is pottery barn and partially inspired the decor. All of the paint is Ethos but matched to Benjamin Moore colors. The wall paint is Pink Cherub, the ceiling is candy stripe, the wall behind the crib, animals and polka dots are Kona. The hot pink accents on the mural are rhododendron. I found images for the mural from etsy and then projected them on the wall and traced them and painted them. The pom poms are from etsy as well. The glider is used but I found slipcovers online for $200 so now its Ivory! The shelves are from Home Depot. If you have additional questions as to where I got something, just let me know :) , Nurseries Design

  • Baby Gigi's Room, This is the room we created for our precious girl who arrived in April. I still have a few things I want to add to the space but it's coming along beautifully. It was done on a total BUDGET. The crib was from Grandma's house, checked for recalls and safety, of course, I sanded it down and refinished it. I made the crib bedding, the drawer was purchased from a thrift store for $20.00 and I refinished it. The glider was a craigslist find. It's a mix of a lot of old favorites, some shabby chic style and love. Stop by my blog at www.thesuitelifekmb.blogspot.com

  • Dylann's Dream, This room is for my 4 year old daughter who is in LOVE with the color pink. If it's not pink she doesn't want anything to do with it : ) So we went with a shabby chic theme. All bedding and most accessories are the Rachel Ashwell- Simply Shabby chic line from Target. The wall color started out as TUTU PINK-Dutch Boy but it was too bright so I hand mixed in some white tone it down. If you like this color then I suggest getting it a 50% not 100% like I did.

  • Summer's Soft Flowery Pink and White Nursery, Flowery soft pink and white room. I wanted something modern but warm, I stayed away from "pink & brown", dark tones and also avoided a great mixture of colors (greens, yellows oranges reds).

  • PINK!, This nursery was done on a budget. I didn't have much money to work with AT ALL. Most things were found through garage sales. The entire room including furniture was decorated on less than $500. It's still a work in progress and I'm trying to figure out what to do with the wall next to the glider. I'm thinking I want to add more black accents to the room, maybe a shelf? Any suggestions are welcome. , Nurseries Design

  • Clean and Neutral Nursery, Even though we knew we would be having a boy, we wanted a clean and neutral nursery for our little bundle of joy. The idea for the stripes on the wall came from a user profile on The Nest's D&R board. The rest of the room came together little by little over the course of my pregnancy. , Nurseries Design
