Patios & Decks

  • Got carried away!, We started out with the idea of building a small deck to put the grill. It turned into a kitchen, dining room, living room and bedroom...all on one deck! The tile steps were quite simple and made such a beautiful difference., Patios & Decks Design

  • Relaxing Patio Retreat, Welcome to our little retreat! Living in the Northwest we grew tired of our open air wood deck that we really only used a few weeks a year. After years of looking at various awning options to cover the old deck we decided no amount of upgrade to the old deck would achieve our patio dreams. It took a couple of years of sweat and tears to complete to our satisfaction but we've created an outdoor living room and kitchen space we enjoy year round. , Patios & Decks Design

  • Dreamy Deck Oasis, Living in a townhouse has its challenges. With no real back yard to speak of, I yearned for a serene, private space to enjoy the outdoors - but with a limited budget and strict HOA rules, my options were limited.

The solution? A small 8' x10' deck off the second "main" floor of our 3-story home! IKEA and HomeGoods were my best friends for this project; I was able to completely furnish & decorate for about $1k.

- "Applaro" sofa, dropleaf table, outdoor cushions, & "Lenda" curtains (IKEA)
- Gray bentwood chairs (HomeGoods)
- Wire accent plant stands/tables (HomeGoods)
- DIY coffee tables I made from tree slabs and cheap plant stands I spray painted
- Green outdoor throw pillows (Pier 1)
- Patterned outdoor throw pillows (Pottery Barn)
- Outdoor rug (Mad Mats)

  • Patio improvements, I own a mobile home on an acre of land. Since I have retired I now have the time to add onto and improve my home. I have overcome some very large obstacles. I have severe rheumatoid arthritis, which makes movement painful and many times difficult. However, I find the work soothing and theraputic. I still have some finishing touches and more work planned. I have added everything you see, the porch, the patio, the fence, the grill area, and the landscaping. , Patios & Decks Design

  • Zen Garden, Thanks to Outdoor Space Designer, Scott Johnson, my dreary townhouse courtyard has been transformed into the perfect retreat. He created a tranquil, serene setting that incorporates nature's elements of fire, water and beauty. It has become a great gathering place for family and friends to enjoy each other's company while relaxing and appreciating the peaceful atmosphere. Scott's vision and design far exceeded any expectation that I had for this small space! , Patios & Decks Design

  • Vacation at home with this amazing multi level deck, pool and gazebo! , My husband and I just finished this triple level deck in time for our 4th. of July party. Each level has it's own unique design and purpose. The upper level is used for dining. The main level has a firepit outdoor kitchen and gazebo used for entertaining and relaxing. The ground level is a space for my Grandson Jacob and I to swim. When I'm in that little 8" pool and the music is playing and my eyes are closed I feel like I'm in the tropics. Great Fun in a small space on a budget! , Patios & Decks Design

  • Tiny Yard/Patio: REPOST, Here is my new yard. I've included a picture of the yard when I moved in too. I took out the flagstone built and stained the deck stained the fence and added some plants. I tried to grow grass 3's so shady I ended up putting in artificial grass myself. Let me know what you think and how I can improve. Thanks.

Shortly after this my neighbor made me take down the tree in the corner of my yard. I was heartbroken and didn't even want to go into the back yard, it looked so bare. So to make use of the space we framed out the garden as a elevated deck and added the cabana and lounge bed. We also extended the main deck. Let me know what you think., Patios & Decks Design

  • Drab to Fab, My 30 year collection of wooden patio furniture really needed a "redo"-my oldest bench (30 yrs old) had 4 different paint colors over the years, the others, just had stain that had badly worn off and weathered. I picked out my favorite colors, made homemade chalk paint, painted, distressed, and "antiqued" with stain, Patios & Decks Design

  • Tranquility Found, I added this 500 sq ft stone patio/fire pit as an outdoor entertainment area. The property line and elevation change defined the design to make sure that I didn't have to add railings to meet code. It's on the NE side of the house, so on the long summer days the house provides shade by 6:00pm for an enjoyable evening setting with golf entertainment below., Patios & Decks Design
