About This Space

We like to spend time outdoors but in Houston Texas you need a covered space and pool to keep cool most of the year. We designed our outdoor living space to be an extension of the indoors. It includes a sitting area dining area and outdoor kitchen. We would love to hear what you think!(The palm design over the fireplace is not artwork. It is a flat screen tv cover.

The arches are about 9 ft at the ends and about 9' 8" in the middle. The main area is about 35' wide and extends about 23' from the house. Teh cieling is about 14 ft at the high point. There was an existing patio gable style roof that we tied the new hip style roof on the extension to. We matched roofline angles when necessary. The ridge of the new hip section was tied into the existing 2nd floor facade of the house. If have a couple of constuction photos that I could provide that show how it was done if that helps. Please help a neighbor!! We live in Louisiana and have a small covered patio (23x8 that we would like to extend in the way that you have. But my contractors act like I am speaking a foreign language to them when I tell them what we want to accomplish. Did you have an original patio roof? If so what style of roof was it and how did they tie in the new hip style roof?

We got the TV cover from customcoolcovers.com. The project was constructed by several contractors for different portions of the projects. We acted as our own project managers.

Wow!!! I LOVE it!! The in-ground trampoline is sheer genius! Did you dig the hole yourselves?? We are about to meet with our architect for our new outdoor space, so I'm looking for ideas. He already suggested the wood ceiling. Our space is not as large, but we do plan to build in a grill and have a water feature and a dining area. I will definitely put this in my LOVE folder!
