My husband built this raised patio about six years ago, and I had the fun of adding the perennial garden from scratch. I've included photos that show the patio from various angles as well as the plantings during different months of the summer (which doesn't last very long here in coastal New England!

Love your patio and garden. How did you get the curves so clean. What did you use for your edging? I was getting ready to purchase an edger, wasn't sure??? Thanks!! I put yours in my fav file!! LOVE IT

To coleandchristy: I use an edging tool two or three times a season to neaten up the border, but because the gardens are heavily mulched, I really don't have a big problem with encroaching grass.

I would love info on the borders of your flower beds. How do you keep them so pristine? They are beautiful. I am wanting to do this, but not sure how to keep the edges so nice.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the CURVE appeal. I'm going to do this but on a smaller scale bordering the backside of the house that is unused, but needs some flair. Beautiful use of various heights, color & shapes!
