Deep in a prairie canyon runs a small stream beneath an earthen dam. A singing flow of water splashes into a pool below the dam and continues its course along this winding stream. On both sides of the stream long, narrow terraces, nestled beneath a dense canopy of oaks, willows, and elms, invite to be developed into a Japanese style retreat as refuge from the sweltering heat of a typical Oklahoma summer day.
The first order of course was the construction of a 12 foot span arched bridge complemented with an oriental pedestal lantern. Some might think this an odd vision for a prairie environment. I would suggest there is hardly a better design to enhance the scene.
