  • A cozy outdoor retreat!, Although our screened in patio was quite nice, it just lacked something to me. Curtains! We've really enjoyed the coziness it gives our patio space and a little bit more privacy, as well.

RESPONSES TO COMMENTS: I'm sorry, I am new to Rate My Space so can't figure out how to respond to comments!

I didn't bring the curtains all the way down, as were the ones I ordered, because Walmart only stocks 84" length sheers. I would have preferred to have them come all the way down. I'll definitely be looking into that after this summer.

I bought the patio set at Ace Hardware at the end of last summer. I had another set that was pretty, but just not what I wanted. This set perfectly fit what I wanted for our patio. Off to the right, unseen in the pictures, is a 3' x 3' fire pit. In the winter I put it where the coffee table is. , Patios & Decks Design

  • Our Patio, Our patio has been undergoing a facelift for the last two summers. I still need to fill in a few corners with plants but decorating projects are never really finished, are they? We entertain on the patio and spend quiet evenings there when it's just the two of us., Patios & Decks Design

  • Our Den, It is cramped and needs paint. We can't afford new furniture right now, but I would like paint suggestions. I want to do something with the fireplace, as well, but the insert must stay. Some of the clay tiles are cracked and the brick is outdated and dirty. We had built the hearth extensions several years ago and they are really looking bad. It is painted paneling, but we are thinking of taking the chair rail down. If we could, we'd knock down a wall and make the space bigger, but again, money is a problem! I know it's tacky looking, but I sure would like some advice! , Living Rooms Design

  • Townhome Patio Surprise REPOST, Townhouse yards are difficult to grow and maintain grass - so we didn't - see what we did instead with pavers, pea gravel, stepping stones, hammock swing, comfy seating, firepit and even a water feature. • Under the Pergola...our outdoor oasis!, Adding a pergola over the existing stone patio, created a more inviting and cozy outdoor space for relaxing and entertaining. It is a multi-functional space. The table in the back makes a great outdoor office in the morning and provides extra seating for entertaining. Light the torches and lanterns for evening ambiance. The curtains provide extra shade from the afternoon sun adding a breezy feel. , Other Spaces Design

  • From Drab to Fab ...Our Backyard Oasis, We purchased our first new home back in November and everything was perfect...except for the yard. The deck was a great size to entertain, however it had not been treated or stained in years. It looked weathered, gray and was splintering. We had a limited budget and watched countless episodes of Yard Crashers for tons of great ideas. We wanted to create an oasis where we could relax and entertain and feel like we were at a tropical resort!, Patios & Decks Design

  • Simple & Light, I'm only a student and I want to create and outdoor room in which I could enjoy and relax in. I had only a budget of $350 and I think I made it work with what little money I was able to spend! Let me know what you guys think or what I could have done differently. I'm a complete amateur at this stuff! I basically got almost everything at Ikea. I knew I wanted a white and clean space but with low maintenance. I didn't have a lot of money to spend on schrubbery or potted flowers. Plus, had I put more plants or flowers it would have over-complicated the space that would have conflicted with the simple furniture. I put curtains up to sort of make this outdoor patio seem like an indoor room when need be. Especially since the patio is in a condo building, it provides privacy! , Porches Design

  • We want our patio to match our view!, We moved from the country into town so that we could be closer to our kids and grandkids. We chose this lot because the back faces a country setting; however our semi enclosed patio is only used for grilling. It is ample size it is just drab. We grill out there and just go out when our family dinners overflow out there(often) it is right off our eat in kitchen. It needs to be family living kid friendly any suggestions?, Patios & Decks Design
