Hello, my first posting to you got rejected... hope I can remember everything I wanted to tell you. First of all, I want you to know that you are not alone in your struggles to find peace and order. The fact that you are asking for help means that you have it in you to achieve your goals. From looking at your photos, most of your issues are because you have too much stuff. Householdish gave you some really good ideas - I hope you were able to implement some of them. The trick is to do just a little at time, tackle one small area at a time, or else you will get overwhelmed. You have to get rid of the clutter (things you do not love or do not use in order to make room for your new life. You cannot organize clutter. Hang in there, and don't give up! I would also love to see some updated photos. We have similar struggles so maybe we can encourage each other!

It's been almost 2 years. What did you finally end up doing. Would love to see current pictures!

What's in the dresser right now? (I have the exact same one! Clear it out--that's some prime storage for scrapbook supplies right there!

Okay. Start off by removing every single thing not directly related to scrapping, painting, or sewing. All those little knick-knacks go in a box, and get taped shut. Take any posters or pictures off the walls, too. Any item that has not been used in 12 months (ahem--baskets goes to charity.

Next, my darling, you need a fabric weed-out. Sit down and make a list of the next 20 or so projects you'd like to do. Pull the items from your stash that you'll need to make them. And then, Box Everything Else and Donate It. It's a totally liberating thing. :

I can see multiple pieces that any community charity quilting group would die to receive... you could bless a lot of lives clearing out your masses of fabric. More in the next post.
