Have someone paint a stain glass scene on each side of doors. Add large planters on each side of doors under wall hanging already there. Maybe paint name right on bldg vs a box sign?

Before making any suggestion, In what part of the country is your church? I'm guessing
southwest?

(cont. Hardware stores have large oval metal watering containers that folks use for planters sometimes. You could purchase a couple of those and plant some herbs/vegetables/flowers in them. Afterall the name of your church is "Harvest Family Church." You could even get some of the members to donate plants and have a planting party/painting party/Potluch lunch after church one Sunday. As for your sign: I think it should be a picture of an old wooden cross in a field of wheat with a family looking upon it as the sun sets with the church's name below in a form of script - Harvest Family Church, all are welcome.

Although the sidewalk is narrow, I would suggest getting some handy guys to build a pergola over the entrance. The outside down columns could probably be secured to the asphalt just outside the sidewalk. Then the cross beams could probably be secured to the actual building rather than having additional down column taking up space on the sidewalk next to the building, but I don't know - someone would have to look at that. The entire pergola would be narrow, but decorative, attractive and is definately an updated look. It wouldn't be very expensive because it wouldn't be that large. I would also suggest repainting at least the trim to a bright white, then paint the pergola to match - also the least expensive fix. Add some long wooden benches in various places along the walls where folks can sit and chat after church. Maybe someone can make these or a local business owner/member can donate them.

Wow! Tough questions! Since you don't say if you own the building. The entry needs to have a big change. You can frame out the doors or change the front doors to stained glass doors. I would suggest a canopy but the sidewalk is really narrow. If you could change the effis a make it a bit higher to a point giving it a more church like look. I would paint the building. The doors need to have that feeling of walking into church. Since I can't see the inside I don't know if that's possible. If not just frame out the entry with some stucco design to make it more inviting.
