I need ideas with finding something for my foyer. I feel it needs something but not sure what and where was looking for something in the corner any suggestions thanks

I'd try a tall plant/ficus in beautiful pottery behind door in corner. Then an entryway table with mirror or picture on other side of door. Long soft drapes from ceiling to floor and large rug to anchor doorway. A nice wingback chair and floor lamp next to the stairs.Yes, please paint walls a warm creamy color :

Would it help to have a bench for shoe removal and space below to store them? How about a piece of art on the wall between the window and the door? How about some color on the walls?

Depends on what you do when you come in and out. Perhaps a straight back semi-upholstered chair so you can take off and put on your shoes. In the corner, how about a side table with a tray or bowl for keys and change? Keep in mind that the way the door will open will require you to close it before you can put the keys on the table. What do you use the small wood unit for? If you don't have a front hall closet, a freestanding coat rack and an umbrella stand may work.
