I wanted a room that was girlie without being too babyish as I was hoping it could grow with her. It all started with a picture of lollipops and then came the color scheme and the ideas from that. It took a long time, but I am sooo happy with the results.

When my husband and I found out we were having a little girl, my wheels immediately started spinning and construction began! I have always loved wainscot, so that was the first DIY project my husband tackled. I maximized space by setting the armoire caddy-corner with a changing station to the left and the crib directly on the opposing wall. The glider and ottoman is also caddy corner next to the changing station. I found an antique mahogany two-tier table with scallop edging from Craigslist -$50- and refinished it in a black pearl stain with gold etching and tulip flowers with the letter M for Baby Madison. The picture-in-picture was a design inspiration that my mom found in an interior decor magazine. We replicated the idea, wallpapering each of the inside panels bordered with molding, and placed vintage pictures that have been with my family for several years. On the 'changing station' wall, the other two picture-in-pictures have wired vintage figures of a manikin silhouette and Eiffel tower for that Parisian flare. My mother-in-law made all the bedding, drapery, and diaper hanging sack from fabric we picked out a local fabric warehouse in Buena Park, CA. The crib cornice and curtain tie backs were a great find at the Princess Canopy Shop on Etsy. They are stained in black pearl with brass/gold etching. My husband designed the M font and worked with an online wood-work company to produce the finished product at a greatly reduced price -under $40-. I bought the hanging chandelier on closeout with black shades and matching pink bows were tied using the leftover pink satin bedding fabric. The furniture is by Munire, purchased at USA Baby and the lamp was purchased on clearance at Tuesday Morning -$50-. I shopped around for the rug after finding that on an interior design website, I bought it for 50% less than retail from BoldRugs.com after they price matched another competitors price. The crib mobile was purchased on target.com.

This is the bonus room accessible only from the master bedroom. It doubled as our shoe closet/overflow and home office. When we found out we were having another child, it seemed the perfect place to house our new addition. We did not find out if we were having a boy or a girl so we needed a room that would work for either gender. The room was a drab brown (previous owners so we brightened it up with light grays and whites to make the space appear larger and feel more airy. Since it's still the room where the family gets ready for the day, we kept the TV but moved it to the wall. the built-ins hide the must-haves and we've corralled the shoes into their own space. The crib and bedding is Pottery Barn, the rocker is Land of Nod, the art is from Etsy, the rug is from Rugs USA, the changing table is a re-finished flea market score, and the drapes are West Elm.

This room was created for my newborn daughter Alexis. I decided on a soft palette of white, robin's egg blue, and brown with pink accents. This room is very functional, also doubling as a guest room and a place for Mommy and Daddy to be near her while she is young. I was dealing with poor window placement, strange wall angles, and an unsightly attic door to conceal, so this room was a challenge. The quilt and bumper were purchased from Restoration Hardware. The draperies were custom made by yours truly! Other bedding mixed and matched, mostly from Target. I hope the pictures do the room justice. I am not a photographer, but standing in the room really evokes a sense of calm, peace, and serenity. Hope you enjoy!

I've never liked pink that much but when I found out we were having a girl I just felt totally drawn to the very very girly look. I scoured rate my space and took inspiration from several different rooms. I'm so pleased with the totally girly, sweet space.
Thank you everyone! I"ll try to answer the questions about where I got everything.
Paint - Glidden Spring Cactus. It's a tad darker than it looks in the picture but is a very light, soft green.
Bedding - Kate Collection by Serena & Lily
Rug, Chandelier & Curtains - Pottery Barn
Crib - Pottery Barn Sleigh crib, but I got it off Craig's List.
We decorated the nursery for our upcoming arrival in all neutral colors. We wanted to be able to use the decor again with any future babies and wanted the paint to be something any child could grow into. Since the walls are just tan, we tried to add the stripes to the one wall to make it a little more interesting to look at. Once we knew we were having a girl we added a few pink frilly items to make the room her own. The bedding has lambs on it which match the area rug. All of the furniture is convertbile. We wanted something that the baby could use even as they get older.

This is the room we created for our baby girl coming in one week! She is the first girl after three boys, so needless to say I had a blast doing her room!

This is my little boy's room. I wanted to to something impactful and fun but on a budget. Most of the projects I DIY'd myself. See the tutorials at www.seecatecreate.wordpress.com as well as other craft, fashion, and decorating tutorials.

My husband and I are expecting our first child. We both are very excited we are having a girl; that all I have been thinking about for months is designing her nursery. I always loved the damask print, that I knew I wanted to incorporate that in her nursery in someway. After some research, I found a beautiful pink and white damask wallpaper print. The wallpaper is what I used as my guide. I started looking into bedding sets. Once I found the bedding I loved, it was easy to pick out the paint color. I love mixing and matching, colors and prints. So when I knew I was going for the damask wallpaper, I knew I didn't want matching bedding. I found a elegant bedding set my Glenna Jean "Isabella". After my bedding was picked out, I was able to decide on the paint colors as well as the type of furniture I wanted. Instead of going with a white furniture set, we went with an antique white or also known as vanilla furniture set. The design on the furniture is a victorian, classic look. After lots of shopping and research, her room came out exactly how I visioned it..

This space has been created with my wife having the vision and myself helping to make it a reality. It all started with a bolt of fabric we thought would make a great nursery chair. This was when we were just trying to get pregnant and it wasn't going well. Several years later after giving up on the idea and after getting our second bulldog along came pregnancy. The idea for the flowers and moon themed nursery became a reality. Most of this room has been created from refurbished thrift store finds. All of the craft work is my wife's doing.

I wanted to give my baby boy a fun calming room. I couldn't find any bedding that I loved, so I made my own, along with the curtains and pillows. I fell in love with the pop of the aqua blue and lime green.

A baby boy nursery I designed and painted for one of my clients. I painted random circle groupings and hand painted the striped wainscot to match the bedding. I also designed and sewed the valance and chair pillow to go with the theme. I added colored circles to the otherwise white changing table and added fun chinese laterns in coordinating colors. This room was fun to do and the homeowner loved it! One of my proudest moments :-
