I created and designed this nursery for my son who was born in June. Each corner of the room contains a story to be told. I wanted something timeless that could age with my son. I designed and hand painted each animal creating a custom balloon for them to sit in. I have an extensive background in art, Faux finishing and design. So this project filled me with passion and i wanted to showcase my abilities for my son. Originally our office, this room has completely changed. I added a chair rail and used serene paint colors for my palette back drop to the animal balloons. With high ceilings, I made these custom linen draperies to add some height and drama to the room. The chandelier was chosen to mimic the look of the balloons on the wall. I created the art over the changing station in photo shop. I could not find the right colors, so I combined vintage pictures of hot air balloons and my quote for my son. Then framed them in silver with mats to tie in the colors. i found the cool metal tiles over the crib at a craft store and tweeked the colors with some acrylic paint to go with the theme and added some twine for an organic flare.
