  • Too full?, We have always gravitated towards traditional or even transitional style but with the addition of two children we feel it is time to look at building out at our ranch.
We are looking at something with a bit more contemporary but don't know how that will relate to our current furniture that we have collected over the years.
Here is the real dilemma, we bought this house in 1993 and it was around 1400 square feet, simple two bedrooms and two bath house with a very tiny kitchen. We remodeled it in 2001, adding another 2000 square feet which included a new 52' great room, that houses the living area, dining and sitting area. Powder bath room as well, enlarged and gutted the kitchen and added a pantry as well as a utility room for storage.
Downstairs we added a 600 bottle wine cellar and study and two car garage. The problem here is that we never remodeled the existing bathrooms. We did one 2 years ago and that was really expensive even with us doing all the flooring and plumbing. We never remodeled the master bath and now that we have a boy and a girl the two bedroom thing isn't going to work for much longer. We are a bit cash poor and would really like to make an impact in the master bath but don't know how without outlaying a ton of $$$. It is our intention to list our home next January and build on our ranch property. Our home is very nice but when it comes to the master bath, it really sucks. And when people see the house they expect a really nice MB situation and it just doesn't cut the butter for the $$$ we will be asking for the home. I don't have a current pic to post but as soon as I do I will post it for all to see:-(, Living Rooms Design

  • Fun with Picasso, I wanted to get rid of my oak cabinets but cannot remodel so my latest endeavor (when we first moved in I had painted them a cream color) was painting the cabinets in a rustic zebra wood and a mural that wraps the island. Our counters and back splash are gray concrete with a small stripe of glass tiles. Far from the norm! We love it! I'm now thinking of painting the bottom cabinets black. Any thoughts? The countertops are actually a top coat so they're not poured. No grout to clean. Easy to maintain and very happy with them., Kitchens Design

We turned it into a warm inviting space with maple cabinets, granite countertops (Monet & Creme de Bourdeaux) and a european flair. It is also so much more practical. Entertaining guests is so much more enjoyable now. Thanks Howie!!!!, Kitchens Design

  • Lorenzo shares nursery with Dadddy's office!, We are temporarily in a two bedroom apartment and had to double the nursery as an office for my husband. It turned out better then we thought! We didn't have much space to work with so I decided to do a quick mural that matched the crib set my Aunt had given me. Shame on me I was up on a stool doing the little details at 8 months! Daddy's happy with his little corner and Enzo is happy to have him... for now :), Nurseries Design
