  • Old World Mountain Rustic-Dream Kitchen, (Just to clarify, I am not a professional, and this is not my home.) My husband and I built this house in Steamboat Springs, Colorado as a spec. I was the Architectural interior finishes "designer". Not sure what the title is there, but there you have it! I have nothing to do with any furniture - just interior finishes. I'd love to hear the general public's opinions. I'll post the other rooms as my newborn allows., Kitchens Design

  • NOT-SO-Great room and Kitchen, A small great room with modern scandanavian furniture that is connected to a kitchen with breakfast knook. The rooms lack color on the walls and a consistent design and or pattern. We love our multi-media computer and flat screen tv which is connected to a multi-purpose tv stand. We're not sure if it goes with the other pieces in the room. We have vaulted ceilings and nitches which really opens up the adjoining room and gives an appearance that the great room is biigger., Other Spaces Design

  • Naughty Knotty Pine, This is one room with the kitchen and family room. The entire thing is knotty pine. There is linoleum on the floors that we highly suspect has hardwood underneath as the rest of the house is hardwood and at one time had carpet on over it. There is a pass through from the kitchen to the family room, but you have bend over to look through. The house was built in the 1950's and has not been updated. My husband really likes the knotty pine, I am not a fan., Kitchens Design

  • 600 dollar throw away house garden, I bought a 600 dollar house marked for demolition. It is small but very charming and has incredible details from long ago building practices. The foundation is hand laid tooled rock and the siding is cedar clapboard, well it was under nasty green asphalt siding! The yard is immense, it came with half an acre of overgrown weeds, grass and rotten trees. From March til now, here is what I have been doing..., Gardens Design

  • Our New Kitchen , Here is our new kitchen. My husband and I are first time home buyers in our 40s. It was all we could do financially to buy our 3 bedroom 2 bath bungalow and to purchase our appliances and a coat of paint for each room. Everything we used to decorate is something we already had. Our budget for the whole house? $100 a month at the most! Be kind!, Kitchens Design

  • My rust-contempo multi-function kitchen, I wanted a functional and restful space to cook, kick back and relax on a lazy afternoon (not that I have too many of those). I replaced my breakfast nook with a reading/media nook and added bar-stools around the counter as a space saver eating area. It turned out to be just the way I hoped for. Given the house does not have a real family room to enjoy, I feel we really maximized the space to its fullest potential..hope this inspires homeowners with small sq. ft. spaces to create multi-functioning rooms of their own., Kitchens Design

  • Buildout on a Dollar, Sorry no "Before" pictures. It was formica tops and exposed hinges on five part faded doors, 32 years old and ultimate homely.

What you see is a "do it yourself" $1000 special. The top are granite tiles on hardybacker bordered with stained oak. The doors are new with European hinges painted gloss white inside and out. The backsplash is real brick split in two and cemented in place using a fast drying glue. The desk on the side sports a PC screen and TV built into the washroom closet wall., Kitchens Design
