We wanted to create a boy's nursery that had a modern touch and could provide some visual stimulus. The mural on the wall mimic's the bedding that showcases letters and numbers.

This is my daughters room, she is18 months now. I am from The Netherlands and we live in Texas. We love modern design and we didnt want to use the traditional colors. We loved the idea of a room that can grow with Sofie. The used fabrics are all vintage Dutch fabrics. The room has contemporary furniture from DucDuc NYC. The 'tea-time-table' is from IKEA as well the doll bed. My husband sprayed the doll bed red to match the color theme of the room; red/white/blue and orange. We used as well vintage pink fabrics and vintage laces to make it more girly and less clean. The wall stickers "Amsterdam" are from www.zuuz.nl

I am a lover of contemporary living. Ever since I thought of making our daughter's nursery I was looking for something that looks modern and contemporary. After my rigorous research I finally settled down to "Gray and Yellow" theme, Gray was to give the room that elegance and Yellow was to diffuse that freshness and incandescence for a girl's room. I loved how the combination was vivid as well as graceful.
However, I wanted to keep a balance between splurging for the nursery and 'thinking too much'. I think I was able to get to it finally!
I got my inspiration from all the beautiful projects that have been submitted already. I had previously done my son's room, and I also wanted Ayana's room to be as pretty as she herself is.

We wanted to decorate the room in a style that the baby wouldn't grow out of right away and that fit with the rest of the house. Cute but not cutesy. The bedding is by DwellBaby the TV lamp is by Glenna Jean and the prints on the walls are by Morgan Carver. The bookcase and dresser are 50's. The room is so tiny that there isn't much space to do too much. We're on a budget so the window blinds are next.

This room was inspired for my Baby Boy that is due Sep 2008.I Chose a very modern style crib furniture with an antique white and Espresso Finish. I painted the wall mural over his bed to match his bedding with regular acrlic and opaque pearl essence acrlic craft paint and sealed it with a can of high gloss spray paint. I used the Cricut machine to create the cute out letters on his wall.

We created this nursery for our baby in a style the is a little modern yet retro, a little funky and not at all frilly. We decided to start with the rug and then painted the walls with some simple stripes and added some decals on the walls. I then had custom curtains, sheets and bumper pad made. We think it is a room she can grow with.
