I am a lover of contemporary living. Ever since I thought of making our daughter's nursery I was looking for something that looks modern and contemporary. After my rigorous research I finally settled down to "Gray and Yellow" theme, Gray was to give the room that elegance and Yellow was to diffuse that freshness and incandescence for a girl's room. I loved how the combination was vivid as well as graceful.
However, I wanted to keep a balance between splurging for the nursery and 'thinking too much'. I think I was able to get to it finally!
I got my inspiration from all the beautiful projects that have been submitted already. I had previously done my son's room, and I also wanted Ayana's room to be as pretty as she herself is.

Well although it's not finished yet this is what I came up with for my gender neutral room. I am still needing some decor for the top of the dresser and a few other things. I have since had my baby and it's a boy so I may add a red fire truck to the room and possibly his name somewhere.

I used orange and baby blue and browns to create this space. I used numbers and teddy bears and footballs to decorate. i wanted to stay away from the trucks and airplanes that you see with every boys room! i know this room isn"t for everyone but it fits perfect with the rest of our modern decorated home.

We wanted a very unique space for our daughter's nursery. We wanted something modern and something she could grow with...besides the predictable pink and brown combo. We had a friend paint the mural. We gave her some very general inspiration but let her create her own design. We could not be more thrilled with the result!!

Hi I am a SHAM (stay-at-home-mom and run a design business out of my home. When it came time to design my son's nursery I wanted to create a space that really captivated him and promoted creativity. This is the mural that is in his room

Now our baby girl is a very young toddler, but I absolutely have loved this room from the beginning, because it was my inception using my favorite colors! When I was pregnant, my sister in law and parents made me sit in another room while they painted (according to my design and they did their own version of a surprise makeover. I love everything about this small room, and because the closet is hardly usable, the shelving with storage baskets has come in so handy for almost all her clothes. The changing dresser is beautiful and practical, as well, and I love the glass fronts on the drawers.
I worked for a children's book publisher, so the artwork on either side of the window is from children's books we published. We have a turquoise shelf by the door that was from my college days, which melds with the colors perfectly, and it is full of books!

I wanted a modern looking nursery that had an asian influence. I decided to use pink, chocolate brown, and green as the main colors in the room. I added chair railing and painted the lower half of the wall in the chocolate brown. On the upper half of the wall I painted large graphic cherry blossoms with dragonflies. It's a simple nursery, designed on a tight budget. I still have some finishing touches to add...

We wanted to do our baby's small room in a modern feel. We searched high and low for modern furniture that didn't have the modern price tag...finally found a great set online. After we chose the bedding we picked the room colors to match (light gray, green and pink.

My husband and I wanted a nursery that went with the style of our home. We found the bedding and went from there. We liked using neutral colors on the walls and pops of color through out the room. All done and just needs the baby!

We recently moved to a new house, so I was starting over on the nursery for my toddler. I wanted to create a room that my son could enjoy, yet be sure it grew with him! I was inspired by nicobus and laurenlee12524 to create a modern boy's room with letters and numbers. I have the Skip Hop Mod Dots bedding, so I pulled in the blue, pear and brown, then added khaki to match the rocker cushions. I did a good portion free hand, but was able to tape and clean up the edges pretty easily! Mind you, I'm no graphic designer, just a mom that was up for the challenge and hoping you like it as much as we do!
