This is what I came up with for my bedroom. I chose a dark chocolate brown as the main color with various blues as accent colors. The furniture I chose has clean lines which gives the room a real crisp pulled together look to me. The bedding brings out colors from the wall art and rug, tying all the colors together. I chose to put a bunch of pillows on the bed to add texture and depth. I took a bed sheet with a petern that I liked and asked my mom to sew it on a comforter along with matching pillows. (cheap My accent pieces on the nightstand are the same chocolate brown with small pops of color in the candles and lamp. The rug compliments the stained concrete floors and adds more texture to the room. The wall art I made myself using my favorite shades of blues and browns to bring a little more "jessica" into the room. I was going for elegant, yet simple. I hope you like my space.

The result of one-and-a-half-year labor-of-love is a tranquil oasis amid a hectic metropolis. Barely 200-square-feet this studio blossomed out of trial-and-errors and sparks of genius. It is a place where gauze-filtered morning light dissuades one from getting out of bed and the only possible reason for leaving is so that one has to hurry back to this walled island of peace again.

I work from home, so I needed an office that was both comfortable and functional. This space was originally envisioned as a formal library, but I converted it to a functional office with built-ins around the room including two workstations, a coffee bar complete with beverage refrigerator and a media cabinet. In the center of the room is plenty of room for comfortable seating and there's a beautiful small patio outside the two sets of French doors. Room dimensions are 13 x 19.

A great use of space in a spare bedroom Jigabug Baby's studio uses affordable and out-of-the-ordinary pieces (think: kitchen island for cutting and fabric storage or a wooden dowel for ribbon to create a fun compact and totally useable space.

These are before and after pictures of our Kitchen. We purchased the house in 2007 with the 70's Oak Cabinet Kitchen. We redid the kitchen with a little bling brought in with ice stone counters and glass mosaic back splash (which looks less shiny in person. We used a flat door style on the dark stained cherry cabinets to go with the beamed ceilings. Slate floors and stainless applicances. We still need to seal the floors but it's just about done. On to redo the other rooms!

Most people in our rural area aren't into the contemporary modern look but I love it! Too much HGTV maybe! This is my dining room which is open to the living room and kitchen.

The breakfast area adjoining my kitchen was dull and uninspiring. The most dominate feature was my 90 year old grandmother's kitchen table which had seen better days. Although she did not object to my replacing it I decided to re-do it instead.

These are pictures of my studio apartment (which is not a category on Rate My Space!. All of my furniture was found in the trash bought second-hand or given to me! My favorite piece is my grandma's loooong couch bought in the 50s. The feather-stuffed cushions are so comfy!

Creative use of 4 foot tall crawl/storage space. Formerly our storage - area you have to climb up and in to get into. I needed a studio space. Living in the city and abutted by other buildings...there was no where else to look for extra space! So with 4 feet of unimpeded head room (5 feet between floor joists – I can stand up straight!...my hobbit hole studio space was created! It has a window, running water, electricity, lights, storage between heating ducts, my bench, work surfaces, anvil, kiln, tools....and all seats on wheels so you don't have to stand very often! You can roll from station to station! Just remember to climb up and crawl in! Believe it or not - it works really well!
