  • Not-So-"Master"-Bedroom, I love the size of my master bedroom, I don't seem to get much use of all that empty space. And I never use the vanity area either, it just ends up being a space that we throw our "junk" on. The master bathroom right off of this room is in worse shape than the bedroom. We just moved in this past October and still haven't managed to make our house feel like a home yet. This space along with many others :( still feels cold and empty. Both of these rooms are especially a bummer since these are the two spaces we use the most, yet they feel so uncomfortable and awkward, not to mention they are desperately lacking a sense of style. , Bedrooms Design

  • Affordable Bathroom Overhaul, Over the course of three months, this modest little bathroom received quite the overhaul as it was torn to pieces and reconstructed to match our simplistic, clean-lined aesthetic. On a tight budget of $1,500, we fit in a lot and were able to update the room from floor to ceiling., Bathrooms Design

  • Gas Station Disgust To Beach Charm, This bathroom was in horrible condition. Worst than many gas stations I have been in. We could not stand to go in there. I totally gutted the bathroom of all trim, fixtures, wall paper, and flooring. At this time the wall repairs have been made, the ceiling painted, the floor repairs made and new tile is down, the walls painted to match the teal in the floor tile, door, ceiling and window trim is painted white. I am in a holding position while I am searching for a small antique table or dresser to make the new sink vanity from. Once that is installed white bead board with trim and railing will be installed. Then white wooden shutters, light fixture and the mirror will be hung. Also, after walls are completed will be building a over the toilet storage shelf that will also have the wooden shutters to match the window., Bathrooms Design

  • Main Bathroom, This is our only fully functional bathroom - for a family of five. The fixtures and decor are original to the house - not our style at all! The bathroom has a tub/shower combination, toilet, vanity with one sink, and a linen closet.

The way the room is laid out - when both the main bathroom door and the linen closet door are open at the same time, the knobs get caught on each other and it's difficult to get them back apart. The knobs have also worn holes in each of the other's doors. There are also two doors into this bathroom - one from the hallway and one that goes into what used to be the master bedroom. We've closed off that door and don't use it - partially because that's now two of our daughters' bedroom but also because we need the wall space in both rooms. Having that extra door seems unnecessary since the bathroom's right next to the bedroom anyway.

The flooring is linoleum, and in 5+ years I've been unable to tell if it's supposed to be yellowish in nature, or if it's yellowed from age. I also hate the caulking around the sink and along the tub, and the grime that I just can't seem to get rid of in all of the corners of the floor. My least favorite thing in the bathroom though is the vanity - the countertop is textured, and almost impossible to keep looking clean. Our bathroom needs help!, Bathrooms Design

  • Horizontal Stripes and Polka Dots for Girls: Pink, Teal, Lime, Tan, Two little princesses started with a plain light gray room. With the purchase of new bunk beds & new polka dot bedding, we needed something girly to jazz up the new space. We taped off horizontal stripes to coordinate, and the attached bath uses polka dots in the coordinating colors and the same princess theme. It uses bubble gum pink, lime green, light teal/turquoise, and tan/khaki. The wall of baskets was pricey but is invaluable storage for toys and such. The whole project was kid-friendly and fun and on a budget., Girls' Rooms Design
