I do like the baby blue for the walls and the beach picture that would look great in this room. I also would suggest getting a sheer window cover, such as a sheer balloon shade, that will bring the outside indoors. I also would suggest slipcovers for the upholstered furniture. Instead of having dog pictures in every room, I would suggest having the beach picture in this room to give some variety to your decor.

I know I need to hire someone like Peter Walsh who will help me get the decluttering done right. With storage and supervision it can happen. But not by myself. With ADD (not an excuse but a factor and FMS, I'm limited to what I can do alone. And the 16/7 time spent with dogs (income expends my energy and motivation. Unfortunately lack of adequate budget does limit me. The turquoise swatch on the wall was experimental and will be used in my mural. Then I'll decide the rest of the room. I love steel blue but I thought it would be too dark. You're right that the mural has the right colors of blue in it, as will the caribbean blues beach mural. Thanks. I was also a photographer but that talent doesn't seem to carry over for me into decorating. I know what I don't like but the problem is narrowing down what I do. I'll repost later. Weddings and such were easy compared to this.

Okay...........start with a total declutter. Your home should be for people, not just dogs. Start by boxing up or throwing away all the little stuff that is not used daily. All of it. Then pick your colors, do your paint, arrange furniture, then bring back ONLY what you NEED. BTW, the blue swatch on the wall is going to look very "baby blue" if you do the whole room in it. A more "steel blue", but soft, like in the tapestry would look better. Then, if you could repost, we might could help more. You could make it very nice and functional.
