About This Space

This small space is home to our main living area. I'm tried my best to decorate on a small budget. (note: the orange chair from Grandma: I have to have the toys at the fireplace (3 boys I know it doesn't look the best.
Also, I just took wallpaper down from the bottom of the chair-rail. Do you have any suggestions on color? Ditch the chair rail all together?
Please give any suggestions ! thanks!

I think that you have done very well with what you have. My only suggestions are a covered basket to put the toys in and a cabinet for the tv. Great space.

Your home is very inviting and obviously a lot of thought has gone into your decorating. Two small things. I would paint the fireplace wall completely in the terra cotta color to present it as one area rather than divided into three as it is now. It would have more impact and be less busy for the eye. The other thing is that the photos over the sofa by the stair wall need to be brought closer together, tighted up just slightly. I think you will like the effect. Great space.

The windows need dressing. Also, that rust painted wall and the votive circle looks like a bulls eye. Lose all that stuff in front of the FP. It has beautiful stone. Work it! The TV stuck in the corner on that little display case looks sad. Better to center it in line with sofa on a credenza. If you have wood floors under there show them off more. I like your furniture pieces. Mind you, this is all IMO :
